I’ve always found Pinglenook very welcoming . Staff are very kind and friendly . The manager Emma is always ready to answer any questions I have regarding my mum , and she’s an asset to Pinglenook . I’m always inform of everything regarding my mum , I’ve seen a great change over the 7 yrs my mum has been living there , and I have to say it just continues to get better … I can’t fault the care my mum receives on a daily basis … the place is kept clean , and meals are good and it’s nice to see that all the clients seem well cared for …. To me Pinglenook is my second home , I’m made to feel welcome on arrival and offered a drink . I can honestly say I have no complaints or concerns - Lisa ward

Because our sister was being very neglected at her last home.
we started to look at alternative homes to place her.
Some of them are way to expensive to place her in, but we still looked around, when we were made aware of Pinglenook.
We were being very critical on her next placement due to the neglect she had already endured.
We read the passed 2 CQC reports, that were not encouraging, but still arranged to view.

How glad we did. Emma and the team are so friendly, happy in their vocation of care for the residents and their families.
Emma was very open about the 2 CQC reports, she was transparent in the discussion of our concerns about them, but, what we had observed while there, impressed us to say yes, to a placement.

Why did we do this, I hear you ask.

We could visualise the future of the home going forward, as Emma had explained. they, by that, I mean owners /staff /catering and management are working very hard to improve the rooms/ extension work and keeping up the quality of care to all, while undertaking and implementing the recommendations from CQC reports, some of the reported CQC concerns are nothing compared to what my sister has just been through. and with staff changes its clear to see, those concerns have now implemented for the better.
That was the Thursday 27th April, on the Monday, 1st of May we moved Jane into Pinglenook.
Jane could not of been made more welcomed by everyone in the home. we were invited to have dinner with Jane, as unpacking and making sure she was happy, took us longer than normally expected, but not a problem.
This gave us chance to see what the CQC report was saying.
Lack of food!!!!!
We can, categorically say that is so far from the truth. all wonderful home cooked fresh food. drinks offered continually throughout the day. residents can help themselves to biscuits chocolate and crisps, or just ask and staff will endeavour to accommodate the request.

We have reported the last home are sister was in to CQC, with many issues that really worried us.

But we have also contact CQC about Pinglenook, to inform them about all the above, as CQC needs to hear about hard work and effort where its due.

We also know that if we did have any concerns Emma and her team would handle it, resolve it, and make improvements.

Well done all.

Lovely place with a wonderful atmosphere. Staff are lovely and love helping the elderly. I recently visited the home, and there has been drastic improvements with new renovations and decorations. It is not as it is depicted online. I guess you should never judge a book by its cover.

I take my dog to visit on quite a regular basis, he is very well behaved the residents love to have a cuddle we have a sing song while we are there I went this morning only to be told we were not welcome any more for health and safety reasons. I worked there for many years and pets were always allowed in. The home had changed hands and I believe the values that used to make Pinglenook the best home have now changed. It is a shame the elderly need to have something to look forward to,

My Auntie Freda has recently joined the residents at Pinglenook.
She was in quite a poor state after having a Stay in Hospital.
She is kept clean, very well fed happy and content. She is looking much better after only a few weeks. The staff are wonderful, a really happy bright bunch which keeps Fredas sprits up. Megan and her team are brilliant in my eyes. I have worked in many care and private homes in my capacity as hands on carer and welfare officer providing care in the community for the elderly. Pinglenook really deserves a 5 star Rating.
