I've been here 2 weeks now. I'm in cardiology but I was admitted into the MAU.

I was surprised but delighted that I've been given my own room with en suite.

So my experience is very positive, the care from the team here has been wonderful, the nurses are amazing and the catering and cleaning staff are lovely, the food is pretty good and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.

I was pretty scared when I was told what was wrong with me but everyone here has really been wonderful. Yes there are tiny things but in reality they are far outweighed by the good things.
The picture is the view from my window.
There is also an incredible walled garden to sit in and relax that has an almost ethereal feel about it because the planting is so good.

Must admit considering the pressure every hospital is under the staff were brilliant even with difficult patients. I arrived at 08.00 to be checked in and advised what would happen to me. When I had seen the doctor she was fantastic, she spent time trying to get to the bottom of my problems.
People who complain need to take a step back and realise how lucky we are in the UK.

I am in the hospital at the moment with bursitis and cellulitis and I have been put in a bed in a corridor for 3 nights so far as the pics show this is my view. Not only that wher I am put I have missed several meals as I am out of sight. The nurse station is not too far from my bed where the staff are laughing and joking most nights till 3 am I am treated worse than a prisoner even they get a tv and a window I have asked to speak to manager for 2 days and still nothing still in the corridor with all the noise it is mentally disturbing j

I’ll be discharged later today after spending five days here at the Grange.
This place, and these people are truly exceptional.
They’re overworked, the demand never ends, and after reading some of the negative reviews, it’s infuriating to know how undervalued they are.
One image will never leave me, and that is of a very elderly and ill lady, lying in her bed, confused and afraid, while the waiting room, every cubicle inside, and eight ambulances outside were full , but a young nurse went to the lady, held her hand, and gently sang to her.
That was a privilege to see, but neither the nurse nor the patient knew it

Mum taken to A&E, had mini stroke, admitted to ward, for observation, noone observed my mother for over 3 hours, until I complained then they took her blood pressure and looked in her eyes, sat her back in waiting room, no bed available so had to sit on hard chair in waiting room for 8 hours +, when I asked for a blanket as getting cold, they couldn't find a clean one. 3 hours later asked again. Still no clean bedding
What's wrong with the service Nurses lovely can't complain about attitude or commitment. Just no room. Disgraceful service, my mum is an 88 year old

Well I don’t know really where to start I had been to Portugal on holiday been run over over the hospital there they stitched my head up and my hand and gave me one paracetamol. I managed to eventually get home after trying to get home for five days went to my local doctors And she looked at the state of me and referred me to The Grange and I can see why some people say about the waiting type but that is all about the demand. It was not bad. I was cared for in the waiting room offered food and treated well, but since I’ve got here, it is exceptional , the staff cannot possibly to any more for you. I’ve been treated with the most respect. I’ve broke my neck in three places and I’m bruised from head to toe stitches everywhere they have been absolutely fabulous if anybody could say any different there is something mentally wrong with them? My room is exceptional , they keep on checking on me looking after each and every staff have been amazing. They cannot enough to help I’m full of admiration for them. They are underpaid and understaffed and they still manage to do as they do. This is the best experience I’ve ever had in hospital. Nobody likes hospital but I can honestly say I am not looking forward to going home, they have looked after me so well, exceptional fabulous and any other compliment possible thank you ever so much to the staff at The Grange really appreciated and I’m not looking forward to going home even though I know my partner will look after me. She look after me 24 hours. I find it unbelievable that people can say any different , but everyone to their own opinion is they are exception much love to all the staff

I recently gave birth to my baby girl at the grange hospital and I couldn't of asked for more. This is my first child so as a first time mum this experience can be daunting. I was booked for an elective C section and from the moment we walked through the doors to leaving we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. The midwives and nurses were very friendly and attentive, nothing was ever to much trouble especially with how busy they were.
The surgeons and anaesthetists were outstanding, I was very nervous going into theatre. I was reassured and put at ease before having any anaesthetic. My experience was very calming and easy as I received so much support and I was looked after.
My birth was very quick and efficient and I had a great recovery and was up and about within 24 hours with minimal pain.
If I plan on giving birth in the future I know I can rely on the staff at the grange!

My elderly Mother was told on the eve of her operation was told by a Doctor that if she’s dies on the Operating table they won’t be resuscitated her. What a comment to make to an extremely frightened patient who was recently became a widow.

They were told she was extremely frightened and recently became a widow.There is no excuse for a comment like this to be made.

This left my Mother scared to sleep at night.

A junior Doctor on his second year in training told the patients children that they don’t resuscitate over 61 year olds. An absolute disgrace of a junior Doctor.

Also,this Doctor fraudulently wrote my name on a do not resuscitate sheet. I told him that I do not agree to the do not resuscitate. I told him that I wanted my Mother to have every chance of survival and to come home. You need to keep an eye on them at all times.

Back in 2023 my Father was admitted and we were told that he had days left to live. The Doctor asked if we would like to take him home. My Father was unconscious in bed. This Doctor said my Father agreed to this, how can some who has been unconscious and was unable to speak agree to this.

We would have loved for him to come home, but we could not provide the 24 hour care he would have needed and he was on drip. We asked if he could be transported to Panteg Hospital as it would be closer for my Mother to go and visit him. The Doctors reply was that he doesn’t know if it would be safe for my Father to be transported. So how come one minute we were asked to bring him home and then the next sentence was that he may not be well enough to be transported to another Hospital. This Doctor just wanted my Father to come home so they could have his bed. Not a chance, my Father needed to be kept in a comfortable condition and not be moved about.

This Doctor didn’t care about my Fathers well being as he had days left to live. He wanted him out the way to free up the bed. The next day my Father passed away in Hospital.

I wished I had the money for them to go a private Hospital.
