Imaging cancelled our appointment as we drove into the car park due to the ‘correct consultant’ not being available that day. We had booked this appointment 4 weeks before and double clarified that we needed to be seen by someone who could scan under 18 years old. Now absolutely no answer on the phone from the imaging department. Think it’s best I find a different hospital.

I had a first class experience at Spire Bristol. I had a total hysterectomy at the hospital with brilliant surgeon Mr Amit Patel. My surgery went very well, which I am grateful to Mr Patel for ?.
All the staff from theatre to ward nurses to catering and hospitality were amazing, super attentive and kind.
I have had several visits to Spire Bristol and I must say I only ever have had positive experiences.
A big thank you to everyone for their care and attention, most grateful.

The doctor is nice but the hospital administrative management is chaotic. They don't offer invoice or receipt after payment, when you request it at the reception, they give you 7 different numbers to call for requesting a receipt that they should provide automatically. When you call the line, no one answers...That is just so poor as service for a private hospital. I can't get my consultation fee refunded by my insurance company due to this, I will never go there again.

Super convenient location in Clifton, but also with a car park for those travelling.

There's a great range of consultants with different specialisms here, and most diagnostic activities and procedures seem to be available. The booking process isn't always the slickest and can be a bit frustrating - for example, only a few consultants have their availability online, sometimes you are bounced between the reception booking team and individual consultant's PAs etc and it can take a few days to successfully make a booking.

Most appointments seem to run within 20 mins of their scheduled time which isn't the worst.

We've had multiple issues with the imaging reception. On several occasions, we've been told that they will call us to book scans (ultrasounds, MRIs etc), but they've failed to do so over a week later until we've either managed to hassle them on the phone or turn up in person.

Facilities are generally clean and pleasant throughout.

Poor administration and management, charging money months after but not before the consultation and randomly like a scam.
First, the patient paid for the consultation fee for consultation in the Spire. Then the Doctor agreed to arrange the rest of the consultation and surgery in NHS under the public hospital.

After the release of the lab result, the admin/reception of the Spire called the patient to listen to the result which is unnecessary as the result letter would be sent to our address without mentioning this is a private service and the related fees.
After 2 months, send the email charging for the consultation fee and the surgery charge.
We were not happy with that, but we knew while we attended to the results, that this had happened in the Spire, so we chose to settle the amount but then after around 3 months, the administration sent the invoice again and charged other fee.

This is really annoying and stressful because the surgery happened half a year ago, but the Spire randomly sent the email and charged fees, like there is a bomb you will never know when will it explode and cause you out of the budget that month.
Avoiding services in the Spire Bristol Hospital and checking your invoice to avoid extra and random charges, feels like a scam, it is such a shame as a hospital.

Booked an appointment early June, earliest I could get was mid August, it was then cancelled that morning, no reason given, next available dates in mid October. I’ll spend my money elsewhere. This is the second time I’ve been messed about by Spire.

Disappointed with the standard of care I received as an inpatient. Poor communication from the nursing staff, some of whom were not very friendly and one was plain rude.

Tried to call imaging department to book in a heart scan. Took 3 days of calling and leaving messages but no reply. Ended up booking St Joseph Hospital in Newport. Its about 1 hour drive further for me but no option due to such poor service from Bristol Spire.
