I've been in and out of A&E for brakes and sprains most of my life, but today came in because of having an irregular heartbeat with palpitations. The doctors, nurses, porters and all other staff were genuinely some of the loveliest people I could ever wish to meet. I was seen in a timely manner, despite them being very busy. The care I was given was of the highest quality and I am so thankful to all the staff who looked after me during my visit.
It's easy to forget that the staff in the hospital are human beings, just like me and you. What they do whilst limited by forever lowering budgets from the government is staggeringly good.
To all those who work as Weston General, thank you. From the doctors and nurses, to the cleaners and receptionists, thank you.

Whilst on visiting the area, My mother had some excruciating pain in her hip and thighs, Which painkillers weren't touching,
So I took her to Weston General where had to wait just over 5 hours to be seen, But fair enough all A&E departments are busy, But when we finally got to see the doctor I was stunned as the doctor couldn't keep his eyes open for more than 10 seconds and he also lost his balance when he stood up, I did ask if he was OK but he blanked me,
But the worst thing was how aggressively he spoke to my mother when she was talking about her past health history he screamed out 'no I mean now, like right now, get it' I told him to calm down but again he ignored me.
Absolutely disgusting hospital and treatment from staff.

NHS workers deserve the world — and a much higher salary. I had to visit the A&E for the first time in my life and needless to say I was very nervous. I have no idea why healthcare workers have a bad reputation at all, everyone that has helped was immensely kind, helpful and patient. Yes, I did have to wait, but I was seen and listened to regardless, the waiting times are not the workers’ fault, it’s because they are constantly understaffed since they are not getting paid enough — I wish that would change. Everyone who looked after me and even the people who didn’t and I just saw working on the floor have been amazing with people, even the ones who had an attitude. We don’t appreciate NHS workers enough.

Terrible situation for all
!!lives are at risk here
Recently went with serious neurological issues .waited 12 hours in a chair after 8 hours eventually had a ct scan and after another 4 hours told to go to Bristol instead. left feeling traumatised . I had one brilliant Indian nurse in traige who was amazing and made me tea trying to calm me . Junior doctors didn't have a clue about my condition or how to treat it
Another medic who wasnt a doctor gave
me a examination that was way to quick and he wasnt in any way trained or qualified in any neurological disorders let alone mine .luckily the doctor with him did follow basic neurological tests and spent a good 15 mins checking me . ,another medic offered me medication that I had already told him I'm not allowed to take Despite me arguing it shouldn't be given to people with high blood pressure he insisted i take it .i will never vist again
The support care workers and nurses and porters are absolutely wonderful. Doctors are run off there feet and are in such a rush to discharge patients that they are discharging the very people that needed them

I went to the A&E department today with what seemed like a ruptured disc. I was assessed after about 20 minutes, then had a 2 hour wait to see a specialist. Quickly sent to xray and the doctor explained what was wrong and what the treatment was. I've just had a hip replacement and that complicated things so he printed out exercises for me that wouldn't affect my hip. Very good service, I left feeling much happier than I arrived.

The care given to my husbands Uncle, Arthur during the two weeks he spent in Kewstoke Ward could not have been better. We were kept informed on his condition and the treatment he was to receive. All the staff had such care and respect towards him and there was empathy and understanding as we live 2 hours away and communication with staff was often by telephone calls. We felt included in Uncle’s final hours which were made comfortable and very dignified. Thank you to everyone who looked after Arthur.

Nov 2021 visited A&E with my daughter today and found it to be a very big disappointment.
The staff at the reception were not engaged in what was going on outside their office. They spent more time on the phone, computer and chatting rather than acknowledging anyone in the queue. This was distressing to see, as there were many people scared and in pain just being ignored. I know it's their job and they see it day in and out but the patient should be priority. Once checked in you couldn't wait with your loved ones (covid) this is understandable, however no one kept the families updated. I was in the foyer for 4 hours waiting for any update. When my daughter was finally released she was still in pain, had been waiting for over an hour for a prescription (which she had to get in the end) and felt she had not been listened to or helped in any way. She was just sat in a chair, and told to wait for results, then when she was asked what was her pain level (in which she replied 8) they didn't investigate further, just sent her on her way. Sadly I cannot recommend our A&E.
June 2021 Always found weston general hospital professional and efficient. Good staff that are happy to help. Visited neurology and physiotherapy recently and found them both very helpful and understanding. Feels a bit old and dated now but I'm sure work is ongoing to resolve this. Parking is 1.80 for an hour so lots try to street park which unfortunately blocks up village.

My health concern was dealt with by the Endoscopy team today. From the receptionist, to the nurses and doctors, you were all brilliant and made me feel at ease. You were punctual, professional and caring. Such a great asset to this country. Thanks so very much.
