Was told while on holiday that local surgery couldn't help and that I needed to attend urgent care centre at St Mary's.
Waited my turn, was triaged and bloods taken before seeing a doctor.
Was told that I would see a doctor when my turn and blood results were in.
During my wait, we were informed twice by staff that the evening had taken a turn for the worse with a few ambulance emergencies and it was suggested that anyone not already in the system maybe go home for the night if possible.
I was given antibiotics for the evening and a prescription for the next day.

The staff are calm, well informed and doing their best for all patients.

This review is based on My experience alone, since August 2017,I have been living in the reality of St Marys Hospitals & the Trusts Failing's to provide Medical assistance. After presenting my self at A&E after accident at home. In incredible pain I was told to go home, I reattended the next day. Delirious with pain only to be told to go home again. The next day I returned for the third time, only to be told to go see my GP, to ask for pain relief and to leave the Hospital again. It became obvious to me the staff treated me as not being honest, as I was practically begging for help with the pain I was in . And deferred again to see my GP, for any analgesia.
I informed the DR was urinating blood, but still not believed . I had a sack of blood on my inner thigh.
And in reality I was in now suffering with Traumatic shock at home with only my Son and Daughter, as helpless as I to what was happening. I spent the next three months in this state, before learning what was the extent of my injury's. I was unable to do anything because of excruciating pain in my pelvis. After over two months of using a plastic milk container as a toilet. Luckily I was sent to London Whittington Hospital knee specialist, to investigate my hip ?...
Where I was assessed, and after telling the DR what I had been going through. Was asked why St Mary's haven't investigated, and immediately fired off an email asking just that, and requesting the MRI scan The Isle of Wight Trust said was unjustified.
The MRI found two fractures of my pelvis, three displaced vertebra L3,4,5 .
Serious Physical Injury's compounded with Psychological Trauma and Zero Medical Intervention, that even today The Trust reject as having any outstanding repercussions on my health and wellbeing.
I am convinced what went wrong wasn't my fault, and unfortunately has had a knock on, domino effect on a great deal of my life. not just a delay of a diagnosis. But a complete failing. Day after day, but thanks to God, didn't result in me bleeding internally to death on my sofa.
This is a long way from a resolution, and leaves me Terrified to the reality of attending the only Hospital St Mary's , a waste of time! or Worse an unnecessary All to familiar, One Way Trip!

All of the staff in the eye car department could not have been better today for my mum she was out at ease and all the staff made mum feel very comfortable and relaxed, SARAH deputy sister, LIAM & BEVERLEY on the ward could not have been more attentive.

Thank you to all of you for taking such good care of my mum I really appreciate it.

My mum was taken into St Mary’s two days ago. Her care from the staff in A&E was amazing, even though they are working under extreme pressure. She spent 24hrs in A&E before a bed was found for her, during her time the care was second to none. I could not believe the amount of people waiting in the department for treatment, but the staff were gentle, kind and sensitive to their needs. These people need recognition for the work they do during this very difficult time. Thank you 🙏

After using 111 online was directed to A&E with a time prebooked. After being there 10mins was checked in and had obs done. About 30min later was seen by a doctor think his name was Thomas but might be wrong. Had amazing service. After calling Southampton hospital was agreed that I could have medication prescribed at St marys and would be seen on Monday at eye clinic so did not have to travel to Southampton today. The staff kept me informed all the time. An amazing service by an amazing team. Thank you.

My Mum suffered a suspected stroke and was taken to St Mary’s for treatment where she received excellent care from the medical staff and a very professional service on June 7th.
She sadly died from her condition before I could get there but the care, genuine empathy and concern for my Mum, and my brother who was on his own with her, was outstanding. The staff were absolutely brilliant and just so kind. I don’t remember all the names unfortunately but I do remember Hayley and a female vicar who were particularly brilliant.
I just love the NHS - there when you need them and second to none. I wish you were paid what you’re worth and were properly funded so you didn’t have to work so hard.
Thanks so much for all you did on that day; it is very much appreciated.

Used urgent care centre after cycling accident. Treated with kindness & great care. Waited around an hour which I was totally happy with, given how busy the department was. Thank you to all the wonderful staff on duty.
