Visited A&E Saturday afternoon for myself, and everyone was exceptional from checking me in to Triage Nurse (Sam) to Xray to seeing another Nurse (also Sam) who thoroughly explained to me about my injury. Service was quick and so efficient. I obviously don't visit often, but everyone was so kind and caring. Thank you so much. You are all doing an amazing job x

The whole team who saved me at this hospital were kind, professional, very competent and supportive towards me, all the other patients on the ward with me and each other. I didn't exactly enjoy my stay, but they made it as bearable as possible. I will always be very grateful and know I've been very lucky.

Our son was treated on ward E1 and Critical Care.
The care that our son received was excellent, and everything possible was done for him. The staff were caring and supportive through a very difficult time. They always found time to keep us updated on his condition and prognosis.
We were allowed as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes.
The NHS at its best.

Absolutely DISGRACEFUL service at Basingstoke NHS hospital! I waited an unbelievable 8 HOURS and still didn't get seen. This is what we expect in a third-world country, not the UK! It's a complete embarrassment. How can such a beautiful country have such an appalling healthcare system? I finally gave up and left in frustration. What a joke!

Had an oncology appointment for my very disabled son.Set off extra early, no mean feat as he can barely walk.Arrived about 15 mins before our appointment at 10.10.To be told the consultant won't be starting his clinic till 11am! We are 3rd in line. The nurses were amazing and so empathetic, even brought him a cup of tea, kept us informed. I wish I had got their names they went above and beyond. The consultant was fantastic and understanding of my sons conditions and so respectful, the best we have ever seen!! Shame the organisation let's it down.

I called the EPAU with pregnancy concerns. - they left me waiting for over an hour. Then closed. Then sent me to women’s health. Were I was ignored for 3.5 hours. I miscarried alone, in an almost empty unit! I wasn’t given a bed, a drink, food, or any care in almost 5 hours! I was told I couldn’t get pain relief as the scales were broken and I needed to be weighed - I’m doubled over in agony and you want me to guess my exact weight in exchange for 2 bloody paracetamol! After 5 hours I discharged myself, went back the following day for a scan, and they were like. Oh you’ve had a missed miscarriage/ - no no, I’m very much aware that I was hear all night miscarrying without medical help. - they then told me I should have come in to see them!! The absolute state of things! Mind blowing!

I came in to the emergency department because I had been spiked, I had called 999 and the A&E was expecting me. I could barely speak or think or breathe or see, I was shaking and freezing yet sweating, and I couldn’t walk without assistance. I was not okay. I had observations done and an ecg and then that was it. I was just dumped in the waiting room. For hours. Either completely forgotten about or left intentionally to deal with it by myself. It wasn’t even busy in there. Everyone else around me was coming in, being seen, treated, and discharged. I was still sat there suffering. Every time I attempted to ask what was happening with me I was told “you are the next person in line to be seen by a doctor.” And it was a lie every time! Didn’t even do a blood test to find out what I had taken. In the end I just left and had someone drive me back home who would actually take care of me until I sobered. No phone call or attempted chase-up to find out where their patient had gone, which really solidifies for me that I was forgotten about. I’m really, really upset and traumatised.

I came along with one of my residents for an appointment in the CT and xray department. They were absolutely amazing, so friendly, welcoming and wanting to put a smile on your face. In particular Sam G was absolutely delightful to be greeted by.
