Overall, they are a great team. Reception have a hard job with some of their patients testing their patience. Professional always. The doctors and nurses are also fantastic. Special mention to Dr Preshna and Dr Aby and paramedic Facey, for caring, listening and treating. Keep up the good work, it is appreciated by myself and my whole family.

We have been working with Valkyrie Surgery for many years and it’s always been a smooth process despite our demands ( we have over thirty vulnerable adults registered there). However, today we were really impressed with the practice facilitating a doctor home visit for a patient who was registered on the day. The doctor who visited provided excellent care as well.
Many thanks

Other reviews are too harsh. This isn’t the best NHS GP but it’s definitely not the worst! Call wait times could improve and some reception staff could be friendlier and more helpful but some are very helpful and very lovely! So it’s pot luck unfortunately. The American woman is always lovely. The tall man is lowkey rude and unhelpful. GP’s are always great. The admin team could be more cohesive.

So I’ve never had an issue with this Surgery before, but today I came there with my partner as moral support, about her chronic pain, and she saw Dr Saida Noorah. Now I have no doubt the Doctor is knowledgeable, they wouldn’t have qualified to be a doctor otherwise, but my goodness this Doctors ā€˜bedside manner’ was beyond appalling. They were rude, dismissive, and straight up said to my partner that her physical chronic pain that she deals with on a day to day basis is ā€˜psychological pain’ and that her pain is ā€˜just as much a problem for the clinic’ as it is for her, essentially and effectively calling her a burden on the NHS. We asked what could be done to help relieve the pain temporarily and the Doctor said to move about regularly which we already told them that she does on a daily basis anyway and that her pain has been getting worse. The Doctor then said explained to my partner why the tablets weren’t working which we’d already said we knew, and has already stated that my partner works with medications on a daily basis for her job and is well aware of the issues faced. This Doctor couldn’t have cared less and was so condescending. They even suggested to manage the pain that my partner should stop full time work and move to part time. That was Dr Saida Noorah’s solution. The audacity of this Doctor to not take anything my partner said seriously is just beyond appalling. I’m leaving this review on Google for all to see so that you know if you go to this Surgery and get an appointment with this particular Doctor that you will get absolutely nowhere and will likely leave the Surgery on the verge of tears, like my partner did. An appalling Doctor who really needs to work (for years, arguably) on gaining some much needed people skills. Sickened and frustrated doesn’t even cover it.

I recently had a surgery and needed daily dressing / treatment at my GP which is - Valkyrie surgery in Westcliff on sea. I was vulnerable and needed post surgery reassurance and help.
In summary, I have been extremely impressed by the way I was treated, the compassion, empathy, professionalism, humanism, competence and what I can just call kindness by everyone at Valkyrie surgery in Westcliff; from the team at reception (particularly Sam) and the quintessentially professional medic who treated me (Mandy) who recognized my predicament and assured me of recovery and treated me with respect and kindness. I will forever be grateful to the surgery for the support received. Thank you - Mr. S.

Phoned the surgery this morning. Offered me an appointment, but I was working, can not make it on time, ask the receptionist 'is there any late appointments', she said call after 11, then she just hangs up. Didn't say anything else, not even 'bye'.

Had the most unpleasant encounter here with a receptionist with black hair up in a bun today, spoke to me like I was something on the bottom of her shoe ! Never been here before & was having some scans done & was very nervous, only asked where I was meant to go & if there was a toilet, huffing & puffing & rolling her eyes, and then said can’t you read then just pointing towards an area of seats, very sad to have someone working on a medical care reception where you go to ask for help & information and are greeted like that.
