Refused to treat me due to being 5 minutes late for an appointment. I have a fractured finger that needed strapping, because I'm unable to strap it myself. They could then not give me another appointment till 7 days later. I have been with this practice since I was a child. No loyalty nor compassion.

Sharing this for my mum and dad who are treated appallingly by this poor excuse for a doctors surgery, lack of care and compassion, made to feel that their health conditions are more down to them than actually being ill health. A GP who seems to be more interested in telling people they are fat then actually prescribing medication to help with the pain and serious conditions. Thry havr to pay for expensive other the counter meds that the chemist says could be prescibed. Not one person at that surgery has the correct criteria to deal with patients. And that criteria is care and compassion. They got rid of the wrong surgery in my opinion this one needs to close. I wouldn't give this surgery 1 star. And from what they saw yesterday they are not the only unhappy patients. Surprised it has any left. Also as for the practice manager she isn't fit to manage a fun run never mind a surgery. Does she actually have any medical background or is she just a jumped up pen pusher been given to much responsibility. PRIMARY CARE doesn't even rate as third class care.

Maybe surgeries like this is one of the reasons that hospital a+e departments are full and backed up.

This surgery used to be great but the level of care now is absolutely shocking.
After recently moving out the area not by choice, they were quick to send me a letter confirming they would terminate my membership of this surgery.
No offer to help with a new doctors nothing of the sort.
Technically I still am a citizen of castle point yet they did not even ask my circumstances.
On many occasions I have needed to change my address and never been questioned as to why yet today I called in whilst I was on the line I requested to change my address back to my mothers address, as I will be moving back soon anyway, and was immediately greeted with demands for proof of bank statements like I’m some fraudster.
This pathetic culture of passing responsibility is absolutely shameful.
The first priority that comes to mind for them is how they can escape from actually doing anything.
The surgeries care more about money than it’s patients and the people that answer these phones lack the compassion to do so.
And at the first mention of any pain or Ill health you can sense that your being judged.
Funny thing is it’s the medicine that I have been prescribed by this surgery that has done absolutely sod all in helping me and I why I have made zero progress in my recovery .
perhaps them acting quick to exercise their authority to remove me from their list will end up being a blessing in disguise.

My appointment was cancelled due to the nurse getting covid which is understandable, I called back to reschedule and the receptionist told me I’d have to wait almost 2 weeks, but the appointment was important as I needed an contraception injection. The receptionist simply said to “be safe for now” and told me there was nothing sooner and that I would be ok without it.

I was unhappy with this to be told to “be safe” knowing this would mess up my body from coming off for 2 weeks.

My mum called a bit later on and spoke to Sharon, she was so helpful and made me feel so much more at ease, my mum explained the circumstance of what happened and that I needed to have this, which Sharon agreed I needed it within a week. So she booked me an appointment with a clinic. So thankful for Sharon and all her help, unfortunately I was not offered this the first call but glad my mum called again.

Imagine being part of a surgery where the doctor would cancel an already booked appointment due to a receptionists notes rather than take the appointment and speak to a patient directly (even if only for a few minutes.)

Im not one to moan, I appreciate the stress the NHS is under but the last few dealing with this surgery has been so poor.

I called for an appointment with a doctor and was denied one until I gave a reason.

The appointment was needed due to a 'mass' being spotted on a pregnancy scan. The doctor present at the scan declared the baby was fine but needed the speak with the doctor further about discomfort and to get their report to the doctor directly.
I spoke to a midwife after this who agreed I should speak to doctor about discomfort early on or go to A&E if it got worse.

I called for an appointment and had to give detailed notes over the phone so that they could pass it onto to a doctor to see if i can get an appointment.
I was granted a telephone appointment with the doctor, but come the time of the appointment I got a different receptionist who actually said "we've all decided you should have gone to the early pregnancy unit insted" and continuiled to read back incorrect details that the previous receptionist must have taken down or that the current receptionist didn't understand.

This made me feel terrible and added to an already stressful situation. I explained again that I've been directed to them, but the receptionist must of stopped listening and ended the call by saying get the report over to us.

THAT WAS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE DOCTORS APPOINTMENT YOU CANCELLED ON ME WITH NO NOTICE.

Fast forward, I ended up having to schedule another emergency appointment with early pregnancy unit who said "why isn't your doctor seeing you about this, this was spotted on a scan but isn't necessarily pregnancy related".. Absolute shambles.

In this situation there is clearly different advice coming from southend hospital and my GP. However, if the doctor would have spoken with me during the appointment I had made and waited for, the confusion would have stopped.

They should not rely on receptionist to pass on detailed reports of a medical examination! Clearly the details I have wasn't communicated correctly.

Honestly, this is an amazing GP practice. Dr Ana and Dr Baqai are so clever and compassionate. The nurses are fabulous and the office staff do their best to help you. Can't understand negative comments. Incredibly grateful for the care received.
