I had an absolutely horrendous experience with a nurse called Julie who disrespected me as a pregnant and vulnerable patient. I will be submitting a formal complaint about the way she spoke to me. I arrived 3 minutes late for my blood test appointment and had forgotten my form due to being very unwell (although I provided a copy within another 2 minutes) and she refused to see me saying “why should I have to give a minute more of my time because of your mistake”. Then when someone else didn’t turn up she said “well I suppose I’ll have to see you now then”. When I sat in the chair she shouted “ARM” then complained “oh what terrible veins”. I replied that I had deep veins and that nurses usually take blood from my hands. She replied “well hands aren’t my thing, you’ll have two attempts in your arm and that’s your lot”. As I left she said “make sure you don’t forget your form next time so you don’t have to go through this again.” Quite frankly, I would rather die of whatever illness/symptoms I have then have to go through that experience again. I felt completely humiliated.

"First, do no harm"
This review is with regards to nurse staff at the centre. We all know what the state of the NHS is, we know how badly it's mis-managed, we know you see loads of people in a day, yet none of these things excuses you treating somebody disrespectfully.

People that come in for tests or treatment do so because they are going through problems and need help. They're not coming in to waste your time, nor because they're bored. They're vulnerable. If you are unable to show compassion to somebody who is vulnerable and you take out the stress of your job on them, then you shouldn't be working in this profession.

It costs you nothing to show some kindness to people who are suffering. The fact that you are being paid to do your job doesn't entitle you to do it poorly.

The ladies in heart failure clinic truly are angels. Gabriella, Sue and Sophie have cared for my mum over the past few months. At every visit they give over and above to put our minds at rest and nothing is ever too much for them

I cannot even begin to express my levels of disgust at the appalling service I received at this health centre. I came here for a blood test, while I was waiting in the room the woman bellowed my name out rather than coming out of the room to directly address me. When I entered the room, she did not greet me at all and simply just said the word ‘ARM!’ - I had no idea what she meant, so I asked her to explain and she looked at me like I was a complete idiot and just said ‘well which arm?!’ Before I even had a chance to reply she was ordering me to hurry up and proceeded to say ‘you are acting like you have never had a blood test before!’ In fact, if she had bothered to spend 5 minutes talking to me before hand she would have found out that I had not had a blood test before. She then huffed and jabbed the needle into my arm and then turned around to fill in some paperwork while I was left just standing in the room before she hissed at me to ‘go’ I was so upset by this as she really made me feel like an idiot and didn’t explain anything to me. I made a complaint to the receptionists, which were both incredibly lovely and kind, and took the time to listen to me and calm me down while I explained what happened. The woman who took my blood then came over to me in the middle of the surgery and started arguing with me in front of lots of people and asked me ‘what my problem is’ I proceeded to explain to her that she made me feel like an idiot and she continued to argue back and fourth with me. Absolutely horrendous and vile service. I will never ever return here again.

Great podiatrist here, Alison, and it's a great NHS medical centre for blood tests, etc.

Really sad about the way the Pall Mall surgery has gone downhill since Covid (they link to here on their website to pretend their ratings are slightly higher). They won't answer the phone, they insist you fill in an online form but then you don't always hear back, and they are just rude all around and treat patients like they are stupid. If it wasn't so difficult to change practices I would, and for now I just hope I never have any real medical problems. And they wonder why A&E is overwhelmed... nobody can actually see a GP.

Diabetic Eye Screening Primary Care Centre London Rd Leigh-on Sea Essex.
July 10th at 10:10 am was my appointment for diabetic eye screening at Primary Care Centre. My experience was very good. I was made to feel relaxed. The person doing the screening was friendly and very experience and the area was very clean and the appointment did not take long. Each time I have an appointment for eye screening at Primary Care Leigh on Sea Essex it is the same. I am very glad I have my appointments at Primary Care Centre rather than the hospital.
Thank You
Best Regards

Podiatry appointments here have been cancelled several times at short notice, then they reschedule my appointment and cancel again. Today 6/12/22 I had an appointment at 9am with the podiatrist which they sent me by text a couple of weeks ago, my wife drove me there from southchurch as I've just had a knee replacement and we arrived at 8.25 so as to get a car parking space, which we did. We sat in the car till nearer the appointment time. At 8.50 they rang and said they were cancelling my appointment because the doctor had phoned in sick. I was livid at the appalling service yet again, what a waste of time😡
