I paid a visit to this place in late December 2024. Ordered a flat white and bought some of their own coffee beans which I believe is from their own coffee bean farm in Kenya. Now I'm going to be very picky about the coffee here because I am picky. If I don't like my coffee I usually say so here or on social media. The baristas themselves were polite and attentive. However the coffee was not nice at all. First the milk was steamed far too hot which burns the sugars in the milk, I know it's a matter of preference for some people but not for me. Second my first sip of the coffee had a slight bitter aftertaste to it, that made me think that the machine had not been cleaned prior to the start of the shift because I was there 10 minutes after the coffee shop opened.

The coffee beans that I bought and tried at home I did not like those either. there was no roast date on the bag just a best before date. Assuming the best before date is a year after the beans were roasted they had been on the shelf for at least 8 months, you can get that with supermarket coffee beans. Ok they were cheap for Kenyan coffee but that's besides the point.

If Paddy and Scott's senior management read this review, my advice to them is this.

Stop plastering your shops and your coffee bags with marketing jargon no one reads it apart from me, I was not impressed. You need to send your baristas on SCA training courses and your coffee roaster on an SCA training course, in order to backup your marketing claims. Right here right now, you need to do better if you want to beat your larger competitors.

I pop in regularly for a quick coffee, always utilising the superb fact that when I use my travel cup I get it cheaper!! What a great idea to encourage less waste. They have a loyalty stamp card too, another cunning way to get you back. And why not! The coffee tastes great, is always piping hot, and great value.
The ladies are always happy, smiley, and obviously like working together, they interact well with customers and you can tell it's a local hub for a bit of socialising, welcoming a wide variety of people from business flyers to mums on the school run. Brilliant,
And they've just won an award for all their hard work too, congratulations.

First time at Paddy & Scotts after reading reviews. TBH we were disappointed with the coffee and food was ordinary. Service was very good. Cafe situated in the Co-op supermarket making it feel like a supermarket cafe rather than a coffee house. Seats very comfortable.

A friend suggested meeting here before going for lunch. Was a bit surprised to find it in a supermarket!

However the staff were soooo friendly & the coffee was the best I’ve had over last couple of weeks. Great place & will be back

Best atmosphere.
Lovely aesthetic, despite being attached to co op it has its own design.
Lovely coffee, staff are always friendly and bring over your coffee.
Loyalty scheme too for regulars.
Really wish it was open for longer in the day and on Sundays and I would be there for sure!

Only had scone and coffee, but both were good and the in coop position works well. However, the prices were high for a pensioner like me.
