The end-of-life care offered to my auntie by the staff at Caring 4 all allowed her to keep her dignity and composure at a very challenging time. The carers were compassionate, sensitive to personal care matters and always gave us time to share any concerns.

Initial contact very helpful. Two people came to discuss my needs on Wednesday, I was left with the impression I had organised care and was just awaiting a contract. Friday at 6pm got a call informing me this was not the case, leaving me scrambling to cover care the following Monday. Do not trust this company.

You stood in my kitchen 2 weeks ago and had a ‘casual’ conversation about the possibility of giving us notice, reasons being you were short staffed, can’t recruit, maternity leave etc etc…I listened, sympathised and completely understood the situation.

The only request I had was to be honest and call me personally when you knew the situation was going to change with my Mum.

You didn’t call Jan, instead Adult Social Care called me and assured me you had informed us, no surprise really, I remember this time last year we had to complain about the incompetence of your agency.

After 5 years I really thought a phone call would be the least you could do.

Do you want to know what’s going to happen to my Mum if they can’t find an agency in 6 days? they want to place her in a care home, take her away from her family, her familiar surroundings, the home that she shared with my Dad who sadly passed away only a few months ago.

If they can’t find a care home they have no idea what they are going to do.

Also, I recommend you do some research as Crisis will not help us either, you are clearly out of touch with what is happening in your own sector.

I will also be filing an official complaint regarding how you have handled this whole situation - when I spoke to adult social care yesterday, they seemed to know very little about my Mums condition or the medication she currently takes, surely there is a protocol you should have followed? but once again you have let us down.

All ways on hand to help Dad in our hours of need, especially fitting in visit times to coincide with other professionals visits/swapping of equipment. Much appreciated and maintaining Dads dignity always.
