A very well organised event and even the British weather didn’t keep people away.
From when we arrived , we were greeted with a warm welcome. The staff we spoke to were very engaging and nothing too much trouble.
Was lovely to see members of the community, a local singer & to catch up with other organisations aswell as ex colleagues and friends.
The ethos of what Christies Care does
Was apparent and we look forward to engaging with their new office in Stowmarket.

Christies Care helped our family through a very difficult time indeed. They provided excellent iive-in care for both of our parents, meaning that they could stay at home rather than going in to a care home. Our Local Area Manager (Ruth) was absolutely brilliant. She really took the time to listen to what our parents needed and created a bespoke care plan for them. The staff that I spoke to at Christies were always well-informed and helpful. And the carers were just amazing. Such lovely people.

It's been a strange year since my dad passed away leaving Mum on her own in their house. However with these guys giving mum the best possible care and attention it's been a bit easier. Having the updates from the care team has put our minds at rest on countless occasions. They've shown compassion and the highest professionalism may times. I can recommend these guys enough.

Christies Care really understood my whole family’s concerns over getting the best care possible for my grandmother. They provided us with highly trained carers who helped her spend her last few months in comfort and with dignity.
Everyone from the staff on the end of the phone to the carers themselves was professional, polite and sensitive both to my grandmother and to the wider family. They made a difficult time easier.

Christies Care were absolutely wonderful. I went to them for emergency care for my father when he came out of hospital. At a very stressful time for the family, they were kind, understanding, answered my many questions happily and speedily met our needs. Within 24 hours, the right care had been put in place and my father was able to come home. Their carers have been really lovely and, most importantly, my father has liked them and found them professional but also easy to have around and good company. I highly recommend Christies Care and would not hesitate to use them again.

Terrible attitude from Christies staff when a carer caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to our family home. We were told it's tough and that my sick father has to claim it from his own home insurance to pay for the repairs. Not even an apology.

Carers regularly complain behind your back that they don't get enough breaks when the company state that they are only entitled to 14 hours per week and to be fully flexible around the family.

Carers show lack of initiative and are happy to sit in the bedroom or play on their phones while my father is asleep during the daytime, this time could better be used cleaning, dusting , ironing, preparing food. It's ironic that they then still complain about the lack of breaks considering the amount of 'downtime' they take

One carer they sent was smoking cannabis in our front room when I wasn't there. He also failed to spot my Father had a serious water infection and also took him to the cafe in the pouring rain without his waterproof coat on. He's a very sick man by the way. Safe to say we asked for an immediate replacement.

The latest carer was okay on his first placement but on his second placement he was terrible. He forgot to give my father an important alendronic acid tablet on the Saturday morning, he left mouldy food in the fridge for days that had turned green (I still have the pictures on my phone) and contaminated the other food costing us money to replace. He was incapable of using the hoist and sling properly, my father now has a bad neck due to being placed sideways in the sling instead of upright. Most importantly, what my father craved the most was a companion and somebody to keep him company. The carer was disinterested, always on his phone and huffed and puffed anytime he was asked to perform a duty that required a bit of effort.

This review is no personal vendetta against Christies. I hope someone reads this and they either train their staff better or have a way to siphon out the people that choose to do this job for a fast buck and have no real interest in being a good carer.

While my father is alive I will always demand he receives the highest quality of care, I'm not one of those kids that will ship him off to an old people's home to get abused and forgotten about

Initial training might be good, but everything else about this company is a badly run mess. Support is horrific, upper management is run by zombies and their policies and procedures are more likely to harm a carer than actually support them.
