I would definitely recommend this GP surgery. Coming from another surgery where the service was extremely poor, I have never had an issue obtaining an appointment at Barrington or getting the help I need. The reception team are pleasant and the doctors have been good too. I use the online form to book my appointments and service is very efficient, someone from the team responds back usually that same day to arrange an appointment. So far, excellent service & nothing has been stressful with booking appointments or attending the surgery.

My wife and I have been with the practice for many years. Between us we have had a number of appointments with Dr Simona and really respect her as a GP and feel that she took the time to listen to our issues and provide appropriate advice and medication when necessary. We have always received excellent care from Dr Simona. 🙂

The reception staff at Barrington medical centre have been nothing but fantastic. My husband and I have relocated from London back to the North West and we can’t believe how friendly and warm the reception team are. They go out of their way to help you which unfortunately is notoriously rare for GP receptionists!! I’ve also had an appointment with nurse Chelsea who was lovely and friendly.

However I had a particularly disappointing and upsetting experience with Dr Simona a couple of weeks ago. I had an appointment to discuss my fertility options. I’ve had blood test results which show high AMH and testosterone which can be an indication of PCOS. My cycles are over 50 days long and I have a very short luteal phase. Both my mum and sister have PCOS and have unfortunately experienced a number of miscarriages and fertility struggles. We are keen to start trying for a family and so as a first point of call, I thought it would be sensible (and fair) to have a chat with my GP.

I must have been sat down for less than 60 seconds before Dr Simona interrupted me and said there was nothing she could do to support me until we’d been trying for at least 2 years and/or have had multiple miscarriages. She spoke over me numerous times and completely missed the point as to why I was there. I found her to be rude and condescending.

While I appreciate the NHS is on its knees and really struggling, I couldn’t believe her attitude and approach. While I wasn’t expecting any form of treatment or even guarantees, I really was just hoping for an empathetic and consultative conversation about my options, next steps, tips and advice. PCOS can be linked to and managed by lifestyle choices and at no point did Dr Simona ask me about my diet, exercise, stress levels, alcohol intake etc. Her manner was so abrupt and dismissive and quite frankly, patronising. I was so taken aback by her approach, I’m embarrassed to admit I became quite teary. At that point she smirked, waved her hand in front of me and said ‘this anxiety won’t be doing anything for you’. I couldn’t believe in this day and age one woman would speak to another in this bemittling manner.

Very helpful, welcoming receptionists and a good place. However, my appointment with Dr Simona Juverdeanu was awful. She was very unprofessional and unhelpful. She wanted me to stop a medication prescribed by a dermatologist for the control of eczema and when I asked her what the alternative would be, she just repeated her words and said I don’t know, book another appointment with Dr Raza on your way out. She was knocking on the desk for me to stop talking and get up. Even the medication she prescribed for me for another concern, she just typed on the PC and looked at me, without any counseling about the medication!! It was the worst doctor appointment i ever had and she made me leave in tears.. will never visit her again.. I would give that zero stars but the place and receptionists are lovely

Tried to get an appointment for my child who has been sent home from school after dizzy spells on 13th February. Was told I wouldn’t get anything until at least March. Receptionist said I could always call back tomorrow if I wanted to try and get him an appointment sooner. According to the receptionist it “didn’t sound like an emergency though”. Not really sure she was qualified, or best placed, to make that judgement. Most unhelpful.

I have been to Barrington medical centre numerous times with my dad. On each occasion I have found all of the receptionists to be very helpful and accommodating.
All the GPS that he has seen have been pleasant, patient, informative and efficient with a special mention to Dr Simona.

Having not been to a GP for many years, I have found all the Receptionists and medical staff at Barrington Medical Centre extremely caring and professional in their dealings with me both on the telephone and face-to-face. Dr Siddiqui in particular, immediately put me at my ease and has shown great empathy and support with regard my diagnosis. It is extremely comforting to know I am in the best of hands at this challenging time for me.
