The management of this care home has deteriorated significantly, and there are several areas in need of improvement. Employees often feel mistreated, with management creating a stressful working environment. The area manager adopts an authoritarian leadership style, exerting control over staff without fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

The home’s manager and deputy manager seem to have limited autonomy, primarily acting under the influence of the area manager like puppets to ensure their own job security. Staff members report being subjected to undue pressure through frequent disciplinary meetings and requests for statements, which can discourage open communication.

It appears that the ownership remains indifferent to the concerns raised by employees, prioritizing profits over operational issues. The area manager has also been accused of favoritism, allegedly appointing family members to key positions across various homes. For instance, her daughter—despite limited experience and qualifications—was initially assigned as Head of Care in this home, where enjoyed her position making lot of mess. With the area manager’s backing, this individual has since been promoted to a managerial role in another home, raising concerns among both staff and residents.

The focus of management seems to be more on financial outcomes than on delivering quality care for residents. As a result, many valuable employees, who were instrumental in the smooth running of the home, have chosen to resign/sacked. Unfortunately, ownership has yet to address these issues, which risks further destabilization.

Families of residents are encouraged to pay close attention to the current state of the home. While the home’s ratings reflect significant dissatisfaction—hovering below 2.5 stars—there are allegations that some staff members have been pressured into posting positive reviews. Upon closer inspection, many of these reviews appear to have been written by employees of the care home itself , feel sorry about them 🤣🤣🤣

Meaningful change is necessary to ensure the well-being of both staff and residents, and to restore confidence in the management of the facility. Without improvements, the sustainability of the home may be at risk.

The funny side is Manager has no idea how to run the home is and is purely a most obedient employee of the area manager who actually runs entire homes under sovereign care as she likes. The filsham home Manager’s only job is to defend google review crying out that it’s fake… fake..fake -poor girl lol.Request to the family -please choose any other homes for your loved ones not this one and this is a home where staff have no peace of mind and residents are not cared well as you may expect .she decides that it’s a review from old employees but doesn’t realise that many inside are not happier than already went out .

The care at Filsham Lodge is fantastic. For the short time mum was there until her passing the staff took time to know her,Made her smile and went above and beyond with making not only mum comfortable but also us her daughters.
Every staff member clearly gets to know and understand the residents.
When she passed away each member that had cared for her came in and said their goodbyes and paid respect. I can’t thank them enough for the care and love they gave mum.

I am extremely pleased with the care provided at this home. The staff is not only professional and attentive but also genuinely compassionate and understanding. They take exceptional care of all residents, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and well-looked after.

One of the things that stands out is the staff's ability to handle even the most challenging situations with grace and patience. It's evident that they are dedicated to making each resident's experience as positive as possible, regardless of the difficulties that may arise.

It's important for families to recognize that their loved ones may change over time, sometimes becoming more difficult to care for. However, the team here excels in managing these changes and provides a reassuring presence during stressful times. Their commitment to maintaining a calm and supportive environment is truly commendable.

Overall, I have great confidence in the care home and its staff. They go above and beyond to ensure the well-being and happiness of their residents, making it a wonderful place for our loved ones to live.

During Mums end of life stay here, the level of care and compassion shown by all members of staff at Filsham Lodge was excellent. As someone who had the privilege of having a family room provision during Mums last weeks, I am perhaps in a better (and more genuine than some of those leaving negative comments); position to be able to have seen and witnessed this care 24/7. It is a home that doesn't have the frills of more recently built local competitors, however, when you have a dependent loved one needing around-the-clock clinical care, the fancy trimmings pale somewhat into insignificance.
The Manager here has made positive changes in particular to the appearance, since arriving in September 2023.
I could not of hoped for Mum to have spent her final weeks under better care, and every single member of staff here showed immense respect and compassion during such an emotional time. Special mention to the Night Team, Lilli and Daniel who were with Mum during her sudden turn and passing. My family and I are extremely grateful that you were by her side.

Although I am lucky not to have a family member in this home and having read the horrific reviews I can tell you..I live directly behind it and have complained several times of a female resident who is left to scream for hours on end..day and night, when I have called at night to ask why she has been left to scream for hours ( it used to be that she would scream help me help me, over and over, now its just loud screaming and wailing like a banshee ) the so called carer who answered the phone tried to tell me he could not hear her!! He was also quite rude and sounded totally uninterested.
During the day at the moment with the hot weather all of the staff seem to be spending their shift sitting in the back garden having a jolly old time..who is caring for the residents As for the poor woman left screaming she also has taken to banging loudly on her window which is a concern..if she breaks the window and badly cuts herself, would they even know? Or even care.
My next step I think will be contacting social services.

A lady I visit was at the lodge for over a month recently, went home with pressure sores. Despite numerous emails no response! Not one to be recommended.
