The best therapy I've received, and I've tried a few. Assessment process was respectful, I felt taken seriously. Unfortunately like all therapies there's a long ol' waiting list but it was worth it.
(I went to Newcastle Recovery College- "Recoco" in between that time, so I recommend there too, if you've just been put on a big waiting list).

Coming up to the end of a really in-depth 16 weeks of sessions now.
Felt like my therapist wanted to know how I felt about the treatment at every step.
I was given lots of options and able to choose how I wanted treatment, from a bit of talking therapy to CBT to trauma processing, or a mix of stuff.
I've never left a session like I used to in basic counselling, wondering what to do with myself, because my therapist gives me loadsa resources, videos or bits of reading, that just help for the time in between sessions.

Honestly Really recommend if you're struggling with your mental health.
I came in from serious trauma, depression, really bad anxiety, some OCD symptoms (to name a few), just around a real crisis point, and already I feel way more confident and able to do things.

(p.s if you want my advice, when you're going through an assessment form: give your Worst Day, that way you're more likely to get the right therapy and number of sessions).

For many years I used to receive support and documented on my medical file that I need long term support each time either I have put a referral or the amount of times my GP has I've been refused so that is roughly 6 times last being referred by the crisis team who put the referral in and still refused seriously unfit and needs to be reported to the general medical council so all my past letters of being rejected for support is evidence and everyone else should do exactly the same i didn't want to give it a star but needed to so i could post a comment. Contact your local press and expose them

Kind, caring and understanding. Don't suffer in silence, reach out to Talking Therapies and get help. They are patient and structured, giving you the tools to empower your mental health recovery. It does take some time to get an appointment, but it is worth the wait. Recommended.

Took my mother 51 years to finally ask for help and want to talk about her horrific problems(worst thing I’ve ever heard in my life) to be told they can’t help her. 1 phone call she poured her heart out from start to finish to be told sorry we can’t do anything for you. For the past week since she spoke to talking therapies I’ve seen a massive decline in her mental health, to the point I’m severely worried about her well-being. She was so excited about getting help and finally being able to be on the right track to be switched off like a light bulb. Went to get therapy to help herself but ended up worse. Absolutely appalled by the situation and in the middle of doing everything in my power to try and get the help my mother needs!

Been waiting for 8 weeks to my phone appointment (thanks bloody covid). Finally called to reschedule for next week because I couldnt leave my 1 year old with someone (he was too noisy), then next week a phone appointment failed. And week after nobody called me. In this time anyone could commit suicide, no wonder its rate gone up in UK.

Might just be me but being told to practice breathing and fill out a mood board whenever contemplating killing myself does the opposite of making me feel better. Your better off going anywhere else for assistance in your mental health, it is not here.

Took ages to get an appointment, but it really helped when I did. Very supportive, and allowed me to work through some stuff I was struggling with.
Worth calling, but if you can't wait, private or Employee assistance may be more helpful.
