Gave birth twice here. Both times had very good experiences.
If living in Northamptonshire would recommend picking NGH to give birth and for scans. Heard many bad experiences at KGH

Could not fault the facilities and staff at both the birth centre and Robert Watson Ward at NGH. This was my first labour and hoped I could have my preference of being able to have our daughter in the Birth centre but being realistic that this may not be the case.

The room I was in was private, clean, had a gorgeous bath with mood lighting and a double bed. All staff I came into contact with were so supportive, reassuring and made both my husband and mom (and if course myself!) feel calm throughout the entire day.

It was only due to myself being the only one in the centre that meant that staffing could not be justified and I was placed in Robert Watson recovery ward. Again, staff were lovely, helped with baby throughout the night and as and when I needed rest or just general support.

Could not have had a more positive experience!

I feel privileged to have had birth in this place!
My midwives were very nice and I was impressed with their loving side. My experience was fabulous! Absolutely fantastic, all women should have this level of care....I `am impressed by the attentions and care received by midwives . All of them have always been very kind, respectful,helpful, professional ... I felt I was never alone and there was always someone who understood what I was going through. It was a very much needed supportive group.
I would like to express my satisfaction in particular
to one midwife Giulia Barra . She is a wonderful person always very professional, very kind, sympathetic... She took good care of me beyond my imagination.what she did for me will be unforgettable.... I wish to have her as my midwives for any other babies in future!

Couldn't have asked for better staff and care when me and my partner went in to have our little boy on Wednesday evening. They were just brilliant, room was amazing too! Honestly from myself and char we cannot thank you enough, special thanks to Ellie M, Debbie and Becky H! Top team! ❤️

I am not able to describe in words how grateful I am for the midwifes and the birth centre in Northampton Hospital. I felt supported and listened to from the start and throughout my pregnancy. I always had someone to call and knew exactly what to do if something wasn't right. My birth experience was really positive. Although the barratt birth centre was closed when I was giving birth, at this point it didn't matter. The midwifes did everything they could to accomodate our birth preferences, my husband was with me the whole time, we had music and dimmed lights, no one rushed me. I practiced hypnobirthing during pregnancy and I wanted a gentle birth. They supported us throughout and were truly incredible in how experienced and quick they were to act if anything was wrong. They only asked me to push the last 10 minutes as my baby girls heartbeat was getting slower and she needed to be born. They held my hands and cheered me on. When my little girl was here, we had two hours skin to skin time, again no rush and all checks were done in a very sensitive and caring way. We were given tea and a toast and one midwife helped me shower and cleaned my things, I couldn't believe how caring and thoughtful they were. I recommend the Northampton Hospital and Barratt Birth Centre to anyone who thinks of giving birth here, we ended up in a labour ward but because of the care we received it really didn't matter in the end.

30th October at 8:25 pm was born Noah with the help of a very good midwife, she made my birth a good experience and I could not thank her enough. They are all warm and friendly and made me feel important and taken care of.A big thanks to LUCY GRILLO. it is my second experience at the BIRTH BARRAT CENTRE and it is an exceptional place ,I had a big support with them. I don’t have a word to describe them.
