Good Doctors, appalling reception. Our experience with the Doctors is generally good and without complaint. However, the telephone response is so pitiful we don't bother (expect to wait in excess of 30 minutes and then be cut off). Instead we queue in the cold and rain with everyone else to face the ordeal of the inefficient and obstructive reception. Reception take 5+ minutes per patient to process for an appointment. Reception service is shockingly poor and appalling for a health provider. This is not one off, this is everytime you need to see a doctor.

Why do you not offer online booking with a GP from 8am You have the facility to change a number of bookable slots on the ledger to online ones, so it is fair for all!!

Difficult for those who work and don't have time to wait in a queue outside the surgery or wait in a 30 minute queue on the phone to be then cut off!!

I can only praise the work they do. I am more than happy with all aspects of my treatment, which is ongoing. I have nothing but respect for all the staff in the surgery.

Terrible. First of all - their opening times on google are wrong. They open at 8am, which caught me out the first time when I patiently waited until 9am to call for an appointment only to find they were all gone, with no apology or attempt to rectify their mistake. On the one occasion (in three years) I have actually managed to see a doctor she was incredibly dismissive of my issues and made me reluctant to continue with a diagnosis because she made me feel like I was overreacting. I still have not received an official diagnosis to this day, despite the issue continuing.

On two other occasions they expected me to wait a week for antibiotics for an infection they knew I had. The last time I actually took it upon myself to ring 111 and attended Redcar hospital, who gave the medication that night.

The final straw was trying to make an appointment yesterday. I spent 10 minutes trying to get through (whilst at work) but their phones were too busy for my call to connect. I ended up doing an e-consult on the NHS app and the response later that afternoon was to phone the surgery. Tried again and I was told to call at 8am the next day as it would be better because they had more doctors in. When I asked how it would be better if I couldn’t actually get through on the phone, she couldn’t give me an answer.

Luckily I will be moving in a few weeks and will no longer have to deal with this joke of a surgery.

Having moved from Hurworth last October, where I was very dissatisfied with the surgery, I am more than happy to find that this surgery has been extremely professional, very quick and efficient. There are a few wrinkles, but on the whole it’s a huge thumbs up from me.

On phone 40 mins and still 15 in queue, rang this afternoon 1 in queue waited 20 mins then finally answered to be told if the duty Dr feels you should see a Dr you get an appointment. Same of a morning if you go down at 8am if duty Dr thinks you need to see a Dr , the service is really poor
