What an amazing staff!
I was in absolute excruciating pain and was seen to straight away despite 40+ beds dotted about in A&E bays, corridors, etc...
I was looked after brilliantly, despite the chaos. Staff were so patient. The crazies were out at 3am... The abuse they get is not be acceptable. I swear they all have halos to work there!!! The nurses were so busy yet always checked on me. The doctor was quick in diagnosing me. Then did a quick referral for a CT scan in the morning.
I came home in the afternoon having had a scan and knowing I want dying but it was just a kidney stone!
An amazing team who work so hard under so much pressure and remain compassionate, kind and caring.
Thanks to all the St Richard's A & E team ?

I recently had bariatric surgery at St Richards and even though its quite a thing to go through I had the most positive experience. It didn't matter who I interacted with, everyone was kind helpful and friendly. The bariatric team are amazing, through the whole process I was well informed about my treatment and felt incredible safe the entire time. All the staff on the Middleton Ward are wonderful and I was so well looked after recovering from surgery. Even when I got lost in the hospital a member of staff so helpful and took time out to show me where I needed to go. Thank you for making something that was quite scary not scary and positive and rewarding, Thank You.

My experience of this hospital is always very positive and the staff are always so caring, hospital always clean, I can’t rate this hospital highly enough, the reason for my review today is my friend needed to go to A and E, admittedly we were early in the day and of course it depends on the reason for attending but we were seen within 15 minutes, sent to UTC and was seen with 15 minutes again and home in one hour from start to finish, that incredible speed aside again all the staff and nurses and doctors were brilliant, especially Sue at UTC. I can’t thank you all enough. You are amazing.

I have the utmost respect for nurses and doctors, but honestly St Richards Hospital Chichester you seriously need to look at how you treat patients. You seem to have lost your humanity and empathy. I'm horrified how my husband was ignored and left in a corridor. The sister on duty seemed to wear her general disdain badge with great pride. What a horrendous experience. How to make already awful situation worse. I would like to say this was a one off experience for us, but it isn't. You did the same to me after a rta. Shame on you!

Took my granddaughter to paediatric outpatients for a blood test. The staff were amazing. Everything was explained to her in a kind but truthful way ("you will feel a little scratch"). She was so proud she coped and the teddy at the end was the icing on the cake.

Absolutely abysmal unprofessional hospital. Lost my blood and urine tests twice, how can you lose a medical test at all? Had a horrible surgery ending up in an infection, they kept me in the corridor for 8 hours because they are always too busy tending to old confused people from homes, then eventually put me into the ward, where the average age of the patients was 80 ( I am 30+). The hospital is just a sitting service for bored pensioners and they do not care about people with real issues.

I am really dissatisfied with the hospital service. I got unconscious due to hypogylcemia, but doctors are taking my x-ray and dont know what they were doing. Inspite of injection glucose bottle, they are just sucking my blood for n times, and even dont getting proper result. The hospital staff is very unhuman. My friend was looking after for me and in the mid night they told us that people are not allowed to stay in this hospital. We are international student and they dont even bother that, infact we are not living in chicester, we live in portsmouth and they send my friend to our house at mid night and dont even paid for taxi. I really hate this kind of behaviour and really dissappointed with the whole uk medical services. They dont even know about medication and treatment. I dont know how they became doctors. Really poor health system in this country. Not coming back to this country and this hospital again anymore. And i will talk to my indian embassy about this situation. And ya please dont appologize. This situation is really not intolerable.

I attended for an Ultra Sound scan today, the ladies that did the scan where lovely. However the overall experience was awful and could so easily have been problem free. The corridor to the MRI/Ultra sound reception was closed with no directions visible unless you walked right up to the door. I know the hospital well so went to the MRI reception area (07.50), neither X-ray or MRI receptions were open and I was advised by a porter just to sit in the MRI reception and someone would call me. Three other patients were already there and where called to their scans. The MRI reception opened at 08.08 and three other patients were booked in and two were called within 2 minutes. My wife then went to MRI reception to 'check' and was told I should be in waiting area 7, which is hidden away in the closed corridor. I went to the waiting area and at 08.14 was called in. The problem was I had a panic attack and without my wife in attendance I would simply have walked out and become a missed appointment, with all the problems that that would entail. All the confusion and lack of guidance for me and others could have so easily have been avoided be opening the main Xray/Scan reception in the Pharmacy corridor, where patients could have been booked in and directed to the proper waiting areas. Having worked in the Hospital, this is just another example of where the ground staff are failed by Administration set up.
