I unfortunately had to use the emergency room at Doncaster Hospital today 20/06/2024 at 2pm I can't no left my comment, I already used this department when I had a heart attack, 3 years ago, what a radical change for the worse, I can classify the way they treat patients who need emergency care as pathetic, the doctor who did the screening - I won't mention her name here, in my opinion, she is not even suitable for a veterinarian (poor animals) I suffer from severe anxiety, her attitude caused major triggers for me. I swear I would like to know if she would treat any family member close to her as she treats me.. I will have to say thank you to the nurses, because when it comes to doctors.. if you need to use the emergency room it is better to make a funeral plan ..

I was at a family party this weekend and had to attend the A&E Department; due to the severity of what happened, the staff did not mess about at all, I was straight in and seen by specialist doctors. The nurses really made me feel at ease, I probably looked calm on the outside but I was not at all, they really helped me.

I arrived probably around 4AM and I was out with medication and follow up appointments / surgery to be booked by 9AM.

Very good staff here. Thanks again

In the Urgent Treatment Centre, Sally was absolutely incredible. On arrival, she greeted my dad, James by name and gave me a couple of key words as potential triggers that she would react to in regard dad’s dementia should it be required. She even bought a newspaper for him whilst waiting. Dad was assessed by Alan in a real compassionate way and with great dignity. This team were amazing, an exemplary example of our ridiculously stretched NHS and Sally, she turned what could have been a highly traumatic experience into one that I will remember fora long time, even if sadly, Dad won’t!

I don't know where to begin as it has such a bad reputation across Yorkshire and as with the other services I've given bad reviews to this is worse, no different ! The hospital looks more run down than I've ever seen it! Despite this, they insisted on adding a Costa Coffee cafe in recent years. Also apart from recent months, I've only known the staff in the last decade to be completely insulting, judgmental, and unprofessional! I wouldn't take one of my pets to this place as they just don't care one bit about the patients theyvrreat and the government policies make it even worse than that ! Also the lack of funding doesn't help at all ! This particular hospital doesn't need any government help to be the worst place to go to medically though. If you're lucky, you don't have to wait a day to be seen? If you're lucky, you may actually be listened to with anything you've got to say? If you're lucky you won't end up being a insulted personally or judged, you will actually get the chance of an appointment? If you're lucky, you may not get misdiagnosed nor a treatment irrelevant to your health issues ?. I can't think of one good thing to say about this place. I've changed my care to Worksop just as everybody close to me it seems! Please stay away from Doncaster Royal Infirmary if you expect a healthy, productive & long life without any mental health issues thanks to having to deal with this incompetent place?
Thank you !

Admitted on Aug 24th, spent a week in there, most of the staff are hugely overworked, ambulances were waiting outside because of a lack of beds. The staff were working frantically all night trying to juggle poorly people, but beds don’t free up as they’d like due to social care.
Have to say the food was amazingly good for the budget and always a great choice. When I’m recovered I will return to my ward to show my appreciation for their hard work ?

Really uneducated nurses. Took my son from Yorkshire zoo as he fell and had gravel stuck in his hand literally in bedded. Nurse tried to take out the stones and gave up after 1 minute. Put a duaderm dressing on which I now know from attending my own hospital wasn't the right thing to do.was told this dressing will draw the stones out or to let it get infected and the puss will bring out the stones. Was told to leave the wound for 4 days and take him to my own hospital after 4 days, was also told an x ray wouldn't show up stones so would be pointless. 1 day after the accident it started to leak puss took him to my own hospital this morning 1.5 days after accident and it was infected, dr managed to get the stones out and they were huge and definitely shouldnt if been left in there and dr told me they should of been removed on the day it happened. My own dr did an x ray also. If you've got kids don't take them to this ridiculous hospital. Nurses need re training.
