I had booked a surprise luxury 3-night Honeymoon spa minibreak here to find out Barbara at the cigarette kiosk couldn't find my reservation. Barbara just kept repeating I've only got Marlboro Lights and Elf Vape Bars, Sir.

Sainsbury's is of course a well-sorted supermarket with a wide choice of goods and although I'm not often in the area, my wife and I shopped there often. There used to be a good check-out system about 16 tills and many cashiers, I think, and even on a busy day with a reasonably full trolley, it didn't take too long to pay for the goods. With the, what I consider as catastrophic, introduction of self-checking and paying cashless by card, on also about 16 tills, my experience is; longer queues, confusion when mistakes from customers are made and generally leading to a much longer time requirement. That's contraproductive. It was also pleasant exchanging a short conversation with the cashiers.
As I prefer to pay cash and for logical reasons consider digital money a dubious development, I would happily welcome back the cashiers.

Staff are always lovely and very helpful. However, please stop replacing checkout staff with self service checkouts- it’s ridiculous. There’s always a massive que for a checkout. How can people do large weekly shops here anymore - impossible! I will have to find a supermarket that still believes in humans. Management needs to start listening to their customers.

I did my shopping at 7am as I do every Saturday. But last Saturday was not a pleasant experience, as the gentleman with a beard was on checkout duty, but clearly is not suited to the position! Because,even though I said I would do my best to go as fast as I could to pack, he totally ignored me, and continued to chuck my groceries down the checkout. As it piled up I paused for a moment but had no affect on him! Then sat glaring at me who look e I finished packing. So, no I'm not impressed, and shall do my shopping elsewhere in future.

What's not to like. Sainsburys is a great shop with quality clothes and home accessories and the food is good. However, the process seem to be a lot higher than other supermarkets.

Good convenient store . Usually well stocked with competitive pricing in what is volatile market place. Staff always helpful. Beware some pricing on shelves doesn't correspond with product pricing when scanning your own, we've found this especially with eggs old pricing not updated. On the whole excellent.

Never any checkout staff on after 6pm
Click and collect hopeless had to come back hours later and most of shop missing. Would recommend the other local supermarkets as they always have staff on checkouts and get the orders right.....

Just got back home from this store, it is our local and always had nice welcoming staff.
This evening however at 7:10 pm there were no tills open, only self checkout.
When asked why there were no tills open, the manager on shift, I believe it was, he just laughed, and said only self check out is available.
I suggest, next time, just put a sign at the entrance with that sentence so we can go and do our shopping in a proper store next time.
For me, lesson learned, I will first check if there are any tills open before I will engage in shopping.
Disappointing, very disappointing!
