On Christmas day I twisted my ankle. Yesterday is my daughter and I were in Winchester she took me to the hospital as my foot was still swollen. Reception were very kind and not long after registering I was called to the Triage nurse who immediately asked if I wanted some pain relief, which I accepted. I did not wait long before I saw someone, who after pressing my foot, and finding the painful spot, sent me round to X ray where i was seen quickly and returned to the waiting room. Not long after the nurse I seen me earlier, called me into a room again. She explained that had damaged a tendon which would son heal, but to keep on taking paracetamol for

In September I was admitted having had a migraine for two weeks, utterly exhausted and unable to care for myself. Barely able to walk or support my own body weight.
On arrival my bloods were taken in a cubicle with other people's blood spattered on the floor.
A person who had never met me or examined me arrived to say I would be treated "in chair".
The nurse who was told this information looked horrified. I was too ill to understand what was happening but, I then endured over 9 hours sat in a very hard plastic chair with intermittent burst of speaking to staff, 10 in fact, 10 times! I had to try to find the energy to explain over and over again, what was wrong, when I finally reached my limit of absolute exhaustion, nearly passing out, someone gave me a bed. No fluids were offered in that 9 hours, no food was offered. So if you get told you're being treated "in chair", prepare yourself.
What was even more shocking, on arrival to the ward, the sister told us she had been expecting me at 2pm, it was now 6pm!
I was finally given some food, biscuits, I'd have eaten anything at that stage, and fluids were set up.
The next day a male nurse handing over to someone else stood at my bed and said loudly "I don't even know why she's in here!" Nice, thank you so much, so I told him I was having a CT scan and lumber puncture. He ignored me and walked away. In fact the only time he acknowledged me was when my husband visited me. I had to ask for pain relief because none were offered.
A used bed pan was in the wards bathroom for over 24hrs. Flies were starting to form. This is the room where I had to wash and brush my teeth. When we on the ward finally got a nurse/carer to remove it, she simply said, we don't go in the bathroom, so we didn't know it was there.
After having the lumbar puncture I was told to lie down and sleep, however the alarm of an IV drip thing in the next cubicle was sounding, it was left ringing for over an hour! Apparently no one working on the ward was qualified to turn it off, let me remind you of why I was admitted, a migraine with suspected bleed on the brain. Again I had to request pain relief when someone eventually bothered to check on me.
Awful experience, totally broken NHS.
I also had to listen to an elderly female patient repeatedly voice she did not want to be washed by a male nurse, he went ahead and did it anyway.

I had come to A&E after I faced an injury to get my foot X-rayed. The waiting room was practically empty & I was told someone would check me before X-ray. I sat there in pain waiting for over 2 hours. No one even bothered to check on me or figure out why it was taking so long for me to get seen, as there was only 2 other patients in the A & E room. If perhaps I had chopped off my leg, they would care enough to see me then. Would rather travel to another A&E if I was in an emergency again.

Excellent experience at ED Monday morning. From start to finish. The ladies on reception were very welcoming, and all staff throughout the day was kind, caring, and very thorough. I was there all day with tests and obs and all the time they kept us in formed.

I came into A and E yesterday afternoon having cut my head badly after a fall. Everyone was excellent and I was swiftly seen by a nurse who cleaned my wound and then glued me back together. Please convey my thanks to her particularly

I’ve got nothing but love for the people working at this hospital, they were fantastic at finding the problem and trying to solve it all while keeping me comfortable. They genuinely felt like my friends and even offered to colour with me ( I was in the children’s ward ) not once during my stay did I feel uncomfortable or even in pain from any tests. I did thank the nurses when I left but I would like to thank them again ?

Excellent care!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone works very hard to ensure they are providing excellent service to the patients. Special thank you to the dermatology department and Dr. Muldoon.
I was nervous about my procedure. However, Nurse Lauren Dean and assistant Becca have made me feel very comfortable.
Thank you so much ♥️

Huge thanks to the very kind staff at the Pacemaker clinic (Cardiac Measurements) who managed to rearrange my fathers appointment for later in the day when delayed by traffic due to the Boomtown Festival. Leslie and Karen (I hope I have got your names right) went above and beyond, including calling us back when we lost our phone connection. Thank you so much for making our day less stressful.
