The hospital has had its ups and downs, but overall it is a 5 star service. You get the odd staff who see what they do as just a job, and the odd grump staff, the one who might not listen and the overly excited staff who just want to do something because they want to, but overall most staff are insanely knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to ensure the best possible outcome and make you feel so welcome I do wonder if sometimes they are a victim of their own success, I feel more at home in Ipswich hospital than I do my own home, and to think they have saved my wife and all 3 children from dying, and I'm only in my 30s. This place is special, I've not been to many hospitals but I doubt they are as good as this one, I do wonder how they do it when they have to endure 12 hour shifts that are non-stop.

I visited A and E on Boxing Day with my very elderly aunt who had a nasty injury on her leg. I would like to thank the two nurses who looked after her and went above and beyond to put her at her ease and reassure her. Their treatment was exemplary. Lynne and Esther - I won't forget you and extend my sincere thanks.

The Ipswich Hospital is the worst one now we have been in Ipswich long time but we never experienced like this before, I took my son to emergency care as he was not well at 11:00pm and we have been asked to wait after the nurses checked at 12:00 am and the nurse said the waiting hours is 4-5 hours , believe or not it’s 9 am but still he is not been called . It is an absolute an acceptable for waiting 10 hours to see the Dr for a child being ill. I don’t know what to say this is the worst experience we have had. What a wonderful NHS Service…….

I went into hospital two days ago had operation on a broken ankle, the ward I had several cases of flu which I was exposed to, whilst I was there the buzzers were going as the patients needed help but staff took along time to see to them and they needed help , there was no empathy in the staff of duty that day very sad. It took them 25 minutes for them to react to my call! But I must say there was an extremely kind and gentle man on night duty his name was Sven he couldn’t do enough for everyone those are the people who deserve all the respect. Then yesterdays staff were extremely good and attentive never two days alike! NHS has gone to pot!!!!!

Late evening MRI Scan.
Assisting staff were brilliant, caring, informative,
reassuring and mindful of my personal needs, however the radiographer on duty, had an urgent agenda, to get done, and out, ASAP.
I was subjected to a botched attempt at an IV Cannula insertion, moving on to an alternative site, inner forearm, which was hideously painful, when I started crying, was told, " If you don't stop that, It'll take longer ".....
I thought the whole idea of later appointments was to reduce the waiting list, not the caring forwarded to the patient ?
I was hurriedly escorted to the door, and abandoned in the corridor, disorientated, in pain, and completely distressed.
If you don't want to work evenings, tell your Manager, I'm sure there Is someone who wants the job.
Finally, my investigation was for Cancer.

We live in Chelmsford and visited Ipswich with my Mother in Law firstly as an out patient then an inpatient - we were all so impressed with the hospital, its staff and how clean it was.
The staff in the Green Hub pre surgical ward were just so lovely - worked so well together made my MIL feel relaxed and well informed about her surgery

AMAZING!!! The staff are so caring and patient and they really listen. When I was on the paediatric ward for severe mental health issues,they cared for me and my mum so well and really focused on my mental health and didn't push me, which made me progress so much. I felt like I was finally starting to get better. Lovely staff. They make sure you are safe and feel safe and really respect your boundaries. Thank you so so so so so much to all the staff. Xx

Took my daughter to A&e with pain in side,well aware of a 9 hour wait,tea trolley eased the wait,observations by a lovely lady called Tracey,done every two hours called in after 5 hours the Dr & consultant ordered lots of tests,subsequently seemed to be pain lingering from a previous chest infection everyone was very professional and friendly, happy with results and it’s nice to leave with nothing serious wrong,the tests eased our minds,it’s easy to run a system down but when you see everyone working so hard long shifts and the amount of people waiting,we felt in safe hands with the team at Ipswich hospital A&E thank you
