I'm going to be honest. I never thought that therapy would help. But having had good positive outcome. I'm happy. No shame in asking for help. Someone will always listen and try and help u.
You are never alone in this world. Even if you feel like you are. There are some good people willing to help you.
I went through some dark times. And they did help. I'm not 100%. But I try and look at life differently.
Give it a go please for yourself. Stay positive.

Only 4 sessions in found it really helpful and the lady I've spoke too the whole time is great. No need for people to slag them off all the time 1) there are good people who work here trying to help it's not fair to tar a whole organisation and all its employees with your bad experience or lack of progression when it could be your fault 2) you could deter someone who would benefit from using this service from doing so

In depth, up to date review:
If I could give 0 I would because they don't even deserve the 1 star.
This is my 3rd time going through them and it's just as bad as the first 2.
The 1st time, they put me on some self help thing that I've quite honestly found better information about over my years of looking on Google and wiki how.
The second time, they called me at a random time when I told them they couldn't do that because of my work and being unable to answer, they left a message saying they would get back to me but never did and instead discharged me.
And this time I've been referred to another team, the Hope team. Now I have a little bit of faith in this new team because they seem to do things face to face and have groups, they instantly sound so much better. But I recently emailed talking matters to find out an update about the meeting for my and other peoppes referral that I was told on the 12th that would take place on the 13th, just to get an email back telling me that someone had to take unplanned leave and I was never spoke about. I assume others weren't either. I would have never been told about the leave or this situation if I hadn't emailed and would have been left waiting weeks and weeks for an update. Needless to say they got a very annoyed but professional email back about how they have proved my original point that the service doesn't care.
I want to be refered to this other tem but the only way to do that is through talking matters who are totally incompetent and utterly useless. I fail to see them ever helping people with real problems.
Update: they finally spoke about me in a meeting to get me refered to another service that might be of some actual help. This was after my therapist went on leave and didn't tell me, leaving me to wonder why I had not been contacted.
My referal was accepted to the hope team and talking matters instantly discharged me without telling me anything about the referal. They will now not respond to my emails asking them to please answer a few things about the referal process instead of leaving me totally in the dark and discharging me straight away as they have.

After a long wait due to high demand I am finding this service excellent. My therapist Katie is extremely knowledgeable and skilled and I can now see some progress which is a massive relief for me.

This establishment should be ashamed of themselves!
It’s not fit for purpose at all I hope they are not funded by the tax payer because they have zero interest in helping people I was personally told by a so called therapist that I “wasn’t a very good patient”
At my lowest point this happened and it sent me into a much deeper hole!

If you have mental health issues DO NOT COME TO TALKING MATTERS!

Seek actual professional help don’t let your doctor refer you to this place!

Should be called nothing matters it’s an absolute shambles!

Disgusting service. They don’t follow up appointments and forget to send over referrals. I had someone called Kieron who said he would refer me but after waiting 5 months and not hearing anything I checked up on things and he hadn’t done his job properly and forgot to refer me. . I was basically just left in the system. No wonder people kill them self.

I had a great experience with my therapist in talking matters. I am sad to see that others haven't but I would not let that put you off if you are needing help and are willing to work through your issues, this helped me to gain some practical tools to help me through some difficulties.

This may be harsh, but it is the based on the time it takes to actually be seen. I registered at the end of December 2021 and I am still to actually be seen by someone.

Instead, I was told (and confirmed a week ago) that it usually takes 8 months.

I understand that the service is stretched, however, the people seeking help are simply not able to access it.
