The staff are very professional and warm - very polite and supportive whenever I call to book an appointment. Special thanks to the Doctors for a stress free and seamless flu shot appointment this weekend. Amazing team!

While reception is good, and generally the nurses are helpful and friendly. Can't say that for the GP's. Rarely call when stated they will and in my own case took 10 days to authorise a simple repeat prescription despite repeated requests via Reception. Only acted when I suggested a formal complaint might be in order.

I need to change my GP due to numerous negative experiences, for which I have made complaints. Recently, I suspected that I might have a broken bone in my hand. I tried calling early, but after a couple of unsuccessful attempts, I finally got through mid-morning, and I had to wait in a queue for 30 minutes which was the shortest time available plus the phone expense. The message on the phone lasted for ages trying to get me to do something other than hold on and even gave me the 'good news' that the phone line is finally working now but there is currently a backlog because of it and they have a zero tolerence to any disrespect of the staff (they must be used to it, the service is so awful). The 'care navigator (diverter) said to get a telephone appointment earlier i needed to phone earlier in the day (this was at 11am), i had phoned earlier and there were 28 people waiting in the queue and the message said to phone later, do you actually know what you're doing? There don't seem to be enough staff available. It seems like the clinic is primarily run by pharmacists and nurses, and I believe the few GPs there are still working from home. They have also changed the name of reception staff to "care navigators," and it feels like they do everything they can to prevent patients from seeing a GP face to face, possibly because it requires the GP to come into the clinic. I was advised to call 111, to use the NHS page for self-checking, and to try an online checker called E-Consult, which was advertised as open 24 hours, but it did not open until 8:30 am, and there was a cut-off number for it. I was eventually given a date for two weeks later, but it was only for a call to see if I would be allowed a face-to-face visit, and the call would be from another surgery. All I wanted was a referral to the polyclinic for an X-ray, though by the time of the appointment, if I had a broken bone, it would likely have already started to heal. I can't take any more of this, and I am looking for another GP. It's hard to believe that the Care Quality Commission recently gave this GP clinic a good rating.

This centre is great. Reception staff are friendly and professional. The GP's I've seen have been pleasant, listened and empathic.
Yes, it took 16 minutes to get through, but I'm not the only one who lives in the area.
To everyone at PHC. THANK YOU.

Such a mix of emotion moved from an area that i was fortunate enough to be with what was probably the best surgery in the country,
My GP was amazing and i have now moved to an area where healthcare is absolutely terrible.
PSMC / Reception staff are wonderful, I use the call back option because life is too short ! I work, so 08.30 is not an easy time when you are 27 in the queue by the time you get through you are at work and can't take the call (nationwide issue that only my previous surgery managed to tackle)
Dr's appear friendly , nurses ,as always ,go above and beyond so staff are nice .
However ! I don't feel like anyone is listening to a word I'm saying ! I know my own body and I feel like im now going crazy trying to communicate and explain the pain I am in .
They just will not refer me for an X Ray which will give me and them the answers I need to be treated .
I am now having to take out a loan to get a private X Ray/MRI .
Knowing what is going on with your with your body is half the battle even if there is no means to find a solution. I don't need to be told its my age ! Age is not a diagnosis! Seriously lovely bunch of Drs but please start listening .
I don't want to hear " if we had caught it earlier "
Sussex Partnership Trust needs a shake up if it is preventing GPs from making sound decisions.
UPDATE :
I have to say it's only fair to update this review. The reception staff are still wonderful ! sitting waiting and listening to the constant stream of enquiries, requests , amendments , etc whilst remaining cheerful , polite and so helpful they deserve so much recognition.
I have now seen a physio , and he has been outstanding , going above and beyond .
I have seen the same GP now and feel like there is continuity in care and I feel listened to . I now have 100% trust in this surgery after a shaky start which on reflection was partly down to me leaving a surgery that was outstanding and moving to an area where things are done differently and it took some getting used to .
Clare Butler is such a wonderful GP! I feel in safe hands . Thank you.

I was expecting a call from the doctor today, as luck would have it, the call came through as I was driving home from work by the time I had managed to pull over and reach my phone the doctor had hung up. I immediately called the number back and was number 14 in the queue. Forty minutes later my call was answered, I explained to the lady what had happened and she assured me that the doctor would call me again this evening. It is now 21.40 and I still have not been called back. I waited about a month for this call and now I will probably have to wait another month or more again. I feel very let down. What do you have to do to be heard?

I have had one bad expirience with one doctor that nearly killed me i am epileptic and the Doctor changed my medication due to the fact that one of my usual tablets was not availble he gave me another of a simler generic brand i had a seizure in victoria rec and was stilll unconciouse when the ambulance arrived i had been unconciouse for 25 mins which is long enough to kill someone i was not with it and had a seriouse headach.I went to see a private neurologist who explained the difference between the 2 tablets shortly after i had an MRI scan where a dent was found in my brain. The Dr concerned is iresponsible medicating something he did not know about why he did it only he knows.
The pharmacy is great and the rest of it is.
The Dr concered is a liability.I think possibly if you can picture a brain in a fish tank with wifi to each doctor it might give you a clearer picture of what is happening there.I twisted my ankle on the 30 december went to A and E i had artheritis the doctor when they were open after the new year were useless one Dr said go back to worthiing i did went back to the surgery they gave me a face to face for nearly a month away i changed practice and was put on some medication that cured my problem within a week and it works great.I have just read some notes due to a Dr there the same one who gives me a dent in my brain reading it says to me he is an iresponsible man who suffers from what he said i do he needs help. The same Dr should stick with what he knows i am not sure what that i i think he keeps that a secret.he single handled might be the who has cost the mental health service thousands its people like him who know so much yet so little as far as mental health goese he is a liability from not using his own head its a shame there are people like him around this man is just a follower and think he knows best he doesnt my own expirience of him has taken years of my life away i had one Dr say to me he is iresponsible and there are things he should not do is to f--k with my life what he has done is stupid and unforgiveable keep him away from mental health its people like him who are the ruination of the mental health service.
