When I first came across the reviews for The Wellcome Practice, I felt quite anxious and unsure about how they could help me with the treatment I’m undergoing. However, my experience has been nothing short of amazing.

The entire team has been so understanding and supportive. Whenever I shared my concerns, they truly listened and responded with care. The staff were incredibly kind and efficient, especially given the number of tests I needed. They not only helped me book everything smoothly but also cheered me on with kind words and encouragement through my treatment.

They’ve always been quick to provide my test results, usually within a week, and were very accommodating when I needed repeat tests for abnormal results. Their willingness to go the extra mile has been so reassuring.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience this time because exceptional service deserves recognition. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and the entire team at The Wellcome Practice for their outstanding care and support!

My 3 year old (ex premie) had to be blue light from the practice to PAU which could have been prevented had we received earlier appointment time.
It’s so difficult to get appointments especially for toddler / children. Spent an hour and a half for an appointment and by the time I was number 1, the phone hang up.
I called again and managed to get appointment after 1 hour waiting and mentioned that my boy has been coughing a lot, wasn’t eating well with a high fever 38 / 39 degrees. Then they mentioned they will try get an emergency afternoon appointment without any timeline.
I kept waiting and took the buggy there to show them he needs to be seen ASAP. They told me to go home and wait for the call. I waited and at 3 pm managed to get an appointment only to have to call the ambulance as his oxygen level was low. My boy has a history of complications on lungs which seem to be overlooked by the GP when I called the first time.
However the doctor was truly amazing and was very thorough to ensure my boy received the oxygen and acted very swiftly

Awful service from a senior gp at this practice for an elderly person , will be making a formal complaint as duty of care and attitude and comments on what was willing to be done is extremely poor , inconsiderate and above all failed duty of care for their patient. This doctor should not be a GP . What was said in the phonecall re: about the patient was completely wrong , not exceptable and cruel in the way this comment was put across without even seeing the patient or assuming other medical conditions or assessments (not seeing or knowing the patient) did not care at all , Why does this doctor still practice medicine? .

Absolutely disgusted with the service I received from The Wellcome Practice yesterday. I had booked a telephone appointment for my 5 year old daughter who needs more medication for tonsillitis and suffering quite badly. As I missed the call, I called back and asked politely if Dr Taylor could call me back. The receptionist was very helpful and said that the doctor will do. I then received a text message 5 minutes later saying that Dr Taylor will not call me as she called me twice. This is a lie. The doctor called me once at 14.12 on 7.6.24 and no other times. Dr Taylor refused to call me back and help my daughter and advised to go to urgent care on Friday night. The lack of help and care for my daughter as well as the lies is disgusting. I never received this type of service prior to the surgery merge.

Since Covid and the change from the Maple practice this surgery has gone downhill hill, bring back Dr Shora senior , this surgery can’t cope with the number of patients they have already so WHY are they taking on more is it because the more they get the more money they receive from the government.

The actual Doctor (Patricia) was brilliant. Very thorough, examined properly and she checked with ENT to get the best medication for my lingering ear infection. She also arranged to see me again after a week to see how medication was working and a month later after that. Brilliant. So I have given 5 stars for the Doctor.

The only frustrating part was trying to book an appointment over the phone as they have so many patients all trying to phone at 8am. Every time I did get through there were no appointments left which was annoying. If you go on their website and book online, everything runs smoothly from there and I got an appointment within a couple of days. I would definitely recommend using their website to book appointments.

Criminally Negligent.

I sent them a private diagnosis with referral for medication for ADHD in July 2022.

For unexplained reasons nothing was done with that referral until March 2023. 8 months I was sat there, told I was on the waiting list for treatment, whilst my referral just sat in someone's inbox.

Fast forward to August 2024, I am still waiting for treatment and could be 8 months ahead of where I am.

When I've called and asked for an update and some support, I've been met by the rudest, laziest receptionists who treat you like an inconvenience who's a disturbance for making them do their job. In person is worse, as you have to wait for them all to stop gossiping and drinking their tea and watch them all basically flip a coin for who is going to be the person to stop dossing and see what you need. These people are supposed to be working in a medical profession.

They've sent me numbers to contact for updates that don't work, and even attempted to dispute the authenticity of the diagnosis letter, as well as telling me "it's only ADHD, it's not that bad, people are dealing with much worse."

I have since changed GPs, who were the ones who have informed me of the 8 months delay in the submission and have already been more compassionate, more responsive and more understanding than the Wellcome Practice.

I am seeking legal advice and assistance against the Wellcome Practice and their staff.
