Cold rooms, room ventilation not working, odour in room, quilts too small, pillows breaking down, windows dirty, garden uninspiring, doors bang super loud incessantly, lack of sound proofing, sound absorbing materials, lighting cold unfriendly. Food Good, nursing, kitchen, cleaning staff attentive.
Of note on Mulberry the lead Dr doesn't have his image on the notice board as others have, personally I thought laid back physically in his chair and in attitude too.
Took 3 weeks to have constructive assessment with better staff... then transferred following day.
Found 1 staff member asleep in calm room too.

I was assaulted by a manipulative & disturbed patient ELLE ELIZABETH HARRISON Staff failed to contain her repeated disruptive behaviour & screaming when she did not get her own way, allowing her to injure & disrupt other patients & also allowed access to hospital grounds & the local area.
Be very careful if you have to visit the hospital & make sure you have a phone to record any incidents as the hospital management will lie to cover up any failings. They conveniently lose CCTV when assaults occur.

Don't visit alone or approach this person. There are many other patients with very violent & disturbed behaviour & majority of staff are temporary/agency with poor skills.
Witnessed several instances where staff on 1:1 to manage the behaviour of patients were nowhere near the patient to react to violence & overnight the staff are fast asleep in the female lounge. There is no CCTV in patient corridors & so staff know they can get away with it
There is a tragedy like the recent attacks in Nottingham waiting to happen in the area around this hospital.

EDITED TO ADD: Pals & ward staff were alerted at the time & afterwards. Repeatedly failed to properly investigate & gave incorrect information to police. I received an apology from police but Farnham road still deny it happened. The trust failed at every point & ELLE HARRISON was never bought to justice & continues to attend services alongside very vulnerable people putting them at risk.

Absolutely Horrific. I thought the Victorian ways of treating the mentally ill were well and truly over...Not on Albert Suite. I was sectioned 136 and locked in a Horrific/scary chamber worse than a prison cell. I've PTSD and was feeling suicidal. This room has greatly added to my distress. Was given no toilet paper, was ignored when I rang bell, given 3 custard creams for a meal.
Filthy dirty pillow. I now have scabies!!!!!!only possibility of catching it was from that Filthy room .Lazy staff.Ive made formal complaint..no doubt will fall on deaf ears.

My take on juniper ward..

It's just a holding cell that has no therapy on offer at all!! Some staff where nice (even if some just sat in the corner falling asleep on a 1-1). Had to show some staff how to use the metal detectors, people can smuggle a lot of contraband without staff knowing. Within the first few days I was offered class A's by patients in the ward, was shown how to turn the e cigarettes into a lighter and different ways to harm myself. Had a male patient expose
himself to me and had to report a fight that the staff didn't see because they were too busy watching the TV, they also allowed a minor up to the ward without an alarm. Confidential information left in the streets with patients names where staff are supposed to be. CQC would have a field day with this place it's not a safe unit and should be seriously looked into.

My dad was on the victoria ward for 6 months after being sectioned. 95% of the staff were absolutely amazing. So patient, caring and kind.

Some of the younger staff seemed to lack social skills / patience needed for this environment but I would have to say it was a tiny proportion of people. On the whole I found the staff to be warm, caring, kind and helpful.

The activity coordinators were great. My dad was there a long time so he lost enthusiasm but from what I saw they really tried to bring the patients together for fun activities like bowling, cake decorating, music etc.

The receptionist Sarah heath was amazing, I would email her endlessly about things it nothing was ever too much trouble.

Thanks for everything Victoria ward!

The staff in the Albert suite are lovely, but that can’t be said for the receptionist in the new building, rude, unprofessional, unhelpful and disrespectful. I asked where to find the Albert suite and all she did was snap questions at me and the just waved me off. I was there because my daughter was killing her self with anorexia and didn’t need that.

I am an older respectable lady . I was held in the 136 suite in November 2023. As an emergency I had to be transferred to the Cardiac Unit at Royal Surrey Hospital where I remained for 2 1/2 weeks as I suffer from a severe heart problem that was ignored in the 136 suite . It has left me deeply traumatised. My care and treatment in the 136 was a disgraceful and shocking. Anonymous please.

I was very nervous coming to Farnham Road as a place of safety but the nurses made me feel comfortable and I felt at ease after chatting with them. Baljinder is a very lovely nurse who gave me lots of buiscuits and warm food. She also checked on me a few times in crisis and I felt comfortable speaking asking for help in crisis too. Baljinders genuine care for patients and calm friendly approach made me feel relaxed; it is clear that she is passionate about her job.

I would also like to say a big thank you to the male nurse who initially greeted me along side Baljinder.

Thank you so much for all you do for us and being so kind to patients.
