Mr Barnett has helped me on a couple of occasions now, most recently with an ACL reconstruction after a windsurfing injury.

My priority has been to get back to windsurfing, snowboarding and mountain biking at the level I was before the injury and I have felt throughout that Mr Barnett has completely understood my objectives and given guidance and decisions that are relevant to them.

He has been very considered in his approach and is friendly and easy to speak to with regard questions, concerns and ideas. He also has a very good understanding of the required outcomes for various sports.

He has performed two surgeries on me now and both times I have felt very confident in his abilities to get the best result from the procedure.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr Barnett, not just for his well renowned surgical skills, but also for his ability to put you at ease with his considered approach and friendly, open and honest communication.

I had a fall in January of this year and broke my Patella.
I had an operation at my local hospital to repair my knee which was successful.
Unfortunately after several weeks I had a build up of scar tissue, I couldn't bend my knee and was in constant pain in spite of physio and exercises.
I went to see Mr Barnett privately for a second opinion and he recommended another operation to break the scar tissue and remove.
This was on a Monday, by Friday of the same week I had had the operation and was on a CPM machine.
I can now bend my knee past 100 degrees, I've seen Mr Barnett twice since my operation, his whole manner was positive, kind and helpful.

I do not recommend you fall and break your knee but if you do I thoroughly recommend you make an appointment to see Mr Barnett.
I cannot thank him enough for looking after me and the confidence he has given me. Along with physio I now feel I can look forward to a full recovery.

As a 47 year old that has been actively involved in sports from a young age, it is not surprising that I would encounter knee problems at some stage. However, over the last 20 years, I have really enjoyed fell running and mountain ultras and the thought of having to give it up due to a knee injury was quite devastating.
After months of unsuccessful physiotherapy to manage my knee injury, I decided to escalate and seek advice from a specialist. Knowing a lot of professional sportspeople in the North West area and beyond, I have known for some time that Andrew Barnett is highly regarded as one of the best knee specialists in the UK. As a result of which, I was particularly keen for him to treat my knee injury.
His diagnosis of a degenerative medial meniscus tear was spot-on from the start and confirmed by MRI. His knee arthroscopy treatment was remarkably straightforward but I was particularly surprised by the rapid recovery rate. Six weeks post-surgery and my knee feels great and I have already been for a couple of long runs in the hills and I am confident that I will be able to return to all the sporting activities that I enjoy.
I highly recommend Andrew Barnett and placing his skills as a master knee surgeon aside I would also like to add that he is a really nice guy and very approachable.
I am aware of the fact that my other knee may require treatment at some stage in the future and have no doubt that I will be referring to Andrew Barnett for further advice.

Many thanks Andrew,

Gwion Williams.

I would highly recommend Mr Barnett and his Knee Clinic services.

I was referred to Mr Barnett as part of the fracture clinic service following a repeat dislocation of my knee. I have suffered from regular knee issues since a traumatic knee dislocation just over 10 years ago. Every time I have had an issue in the past, I was advised that there was not much that could be done other than to strengthen the muscles in the leg but I was left with instability and the likelihood that my knee would dislocate again at any time.

Mr Barnett agreed to look into my knee issue and following an MRI he diagnosed that my medial patellofemoral ligament had snapped due to the traumatic dislocation 10 years ago. This was the reason why my knee joint was unstable. He suggested that surgery was possible to rebuild the ligament to return stability to the joint and talked me through all the possible options and outcomes. This was all during the Covid pandemic where Mr Barnett held in person and over the phone consultations explaining the options.

I had my ligament reconstruction surgery in November 2020 and the results have been brilliant. I was back on my feet the same day and did not need crutches. Within a few weeks I was back at work and working with a physiotherapist to rebuild my range of movement and muscle strength with minimal discomfort.

Everything healed up really well and now 6 months on I can say my knee feels brilliant. It is stable and I am able to live my life without any knee supports. There is no feeling of instability which I used to get constantly before the operation.

I would highly recommend Mr Barnett to anyone who is suffering with knee problems as he was able to diagnose the problem and perform surgery which has significantly improved my quality of life.

I was referred to Mr Barnett when my knee became very stiff and swollen earlier this year preventing me from doing the majority of activities I enjoyed. I had a consultation where he quickly assessed and discussed my options, clearly articulating the pros and cons of each. We agreed that an arthroscopy seemed the best way forward and he provided all the information for me to get this arranged for just a couple of weeks later.
It's now 6 weeks since the arthroscopy and I am very happy with the outcome and have started being able to get more active again.
Mr Barnett was approachable throughout. In my post-op review he explained exactly what he had done during the operation and what this might mean for how my knee will be in the future.
He never tried to pretend that the arthroscopy was a magic cure, but was obviously pleased to see the huge positive effect it had had for me. If I do have further issues with my knee in the future I will certainly be going back to see him.

After having an injury to a radial meniscus tear and extreme discomfort for 3-4 weeks I organised consultation to Mr Andrew Barnett. He explained the problem and given my age we agree that pain management could be a short term relief however he details what surgery would be appropriate, which I chose.

His team was extremely helpful, professional and empathetic to my condition and managed to get me booked in within 3 weeks. My surgery was well organised, totally professional and the staff in all areas were outstanding (at Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital, Ludlow Ward).

I strongly recommend Mr Barnett and he was totally professional, friendly and approachable. With thanks and appreciation to an excellent team of caring people.

On behalf of my daughter - Ellie.
I was referred to Mr Barnett for a second opinion as my first surgeon wasn't very helpful. I couldn't fault his service, he immediately put me in for investigations and diagnosed me. Within 4 weeks of diagnosis I had my operation and it went smoothly. He also checked my right knee whilst under anaesthetic and found a problem, I then had to have surgery on this knee. I went back for surgery on my right knee and I'm currently 6 months post op and I'm back to playing football with complete recovery of both knees!

I was recommended to visit Mr Barnett given the experience of a friend who'd has the same injury. My initial consultation was thorough and highly informative.

The use of an X Ray and MRI Scan clearly illustrated that I had a radial meniscus tear. I was given the option of pain management or surgery. I chose the latter.

The day of my surgery was well organised and the whole pre and op procedure was fully explained as were the timescales and prognosis.

If you want pragmatic and professional advice from a highly competent medical practitioner I strongly recommend make an appointment with Mr Barnett.
