My friend goes to CAMHS and it is the worst experience in the world, she has a low weight but not to any of her own fault, she’s trying to gain weight in a positive way and all of her friends support her,

But the service at the society and her family therapist have treated her like a psych ward patient, they have diagnosed her with Anorexia when all she wanted to do was gain healthy weight, they follow textbook definitions and heavily implied to her that she has struggles with her body image, when she clearly dosent and knows herself she doesn’t.
They treat her like she’s incapable of comprehending her own thoughts like an animal and it’s horrible, they bring up “parts of her life” and constantly force her into having a reason to be the way she is.
They are absolutely disgusting to treat her like this, they’ve made her feel worse and should be stopped.

I’m 19 years old but I went here when I was 17, the service isn’t a good service as they didn’t help me all they did was say “to go on a walk” like that would fix my problems. They would also call me for an hour wasting my time as they didn’t do nothing but repeat my problems without finding solutions. They then discharged me when I was 18. I found it useless and a waste of my time, I wouldn’t recommend using this service. I was also on a 2 years and a half waiting list just for them not to be helpful and discharge me without being properly worked with

Horrible system (Ealing Camhs and all), if they had sorted themselves out i wouldn't of had to suffer extreme abuse on 4 psych wards. Did not have a psychiatrist for the neuro-developmental team up until a couple weeks ago. Failed to evaluate for ASD or ADHD for multiple patients. Just not worth it find a different Camhs.

Incredibly poor service, the treatment for eating disorders is simply to put the girl in a hospital, brute feed her and then release. My daughter was placed in a young offenders unit that pretended to be an eating disorder unit so to get as many patients. It was in fact nothing to do with eating and my daughter was threatened while girls performed sexual acts on each other. Camhs Ealing decided it wasn't that bad and were annoyed I had refused to let my daughter stay there. After staying a t another hospital for 8 months of hell they still would not investigate other reasons for what had gone on and when Ealing Camhs became involved again all they wanted to do was put her BACK in hospital to the point they were asking her every visit if she wanted to go into hospital despite there being no physical reason. 2 very serious complaints upheld in my daughters favour and we are free of Ealing but the place we are at now has started off in the same camhs fashion even though my daughter is being monitored and is happily eating and trying to get on with life.

Basically CAMHS is poorly ran, works from a one approach for all to eating disorders while being almost tormented at times in so called therapy. To those using them I beg you to watch every angle and listen to your daughter, I'd hate a family to go through what we did. and still are

It’s a very bad service, my doctor referred me when I was 15 I’m now 17 and last year in 2021 cahms said I was on their waiting list and that they would call in 2-3 months it’s been a year and I still haven’t heard from them when my mum called nobody answered, my condition is getting worse and I’m nearly turning 18 and I’m still on the waiting list, I feel as if I’m not been taken seriously which is upsetting

Impossible to get through by phone. If no one is available then a message should be left to that effect. Cut off after 46 minutes. This happened three times.
