I had an operation in early 2024. It was a keyhole surgery to remove a cyst on my ovary. I've had 5 prior to coming here. The operation itself was conducted quickly and I was first in, I was awake by 11am. I started to show that I could not pass urine at all. A common side effect to anaesthesia. My husband told them I needed a catheter but my main surgeon was busy with other patients. The dr doing the rounds asked sarcastically what pain relief I needed, I repeated I needed a catheter. I was screaming. In the end, after much pushing from my husband, the surgeon was finally reached and a catheter was placed at 8pm. 2 litres drained. Which is a lot when you've just had surgery on your womb!

To top this all off, I knew my insurance wouldn't cover the cost of pain relief to be sent home with. I asked for a price list and was told "we don't give out prices, just bill the insurance" - so I refused pain relief. Went home. Was in agony and called my local GP who prescribed the right dosage of pain relief for the price of a prescription.

It's took my nearly a year to write all this out as I found the experience quite traumatic. It's the most pain I've been left in after keyhole surgery and just not what you expect from a private hospital. The care is just not top rate at all.

Haven't had my procedure yet, but up to now they never answer the phones and managed to send my letters to an old address they had for me 13 years ago, despite the consultant's private secretary furnishing them with my up to date info. I'm now now 2 1/2 weeks from my surgery date. No confirmation, no pre-op date, nothing. Also only 10 days from last payment date.
Not a good start. Very disappointed 😞.

I've had several scans and a couple of operations and procedures here over the years through my health insurance, and have always had a really positive experience.

Friendly staff who really go above and beyond to care for you from the moment you arrive, great surgeons and anaesthetists who listen to the patient and do a great job. Communication was really good before, during and after the procedures. I felt well cared for and had a really helpful information pack on discharge with a direct number to the ward in case I had any concerns.

Food was great even for a pesky vegan, with several options on the menu.

WiFi worked great for me and for the person accompanying me which meant we could stay in touch with people while there as the phone signal isn't great.

Outpatient provision is also great with knowledgeable physiotherapists and excellent standards of care.

Attended Nuffield Hospital to get professional help care and advice by a top Renal consultant
Last year , what happened was dreadful the way i was treated and stress and trauma cause by all the mistakes i need to highlight so others can see how they decide if they want to use the services of this private business !!!
They sent me Overdue payment emails after few days of my visit ,not following correct terms ,i pay my bills on time thank you ?
The DR GLANCY said all the right things and did lots of blood tests on my first visit.
But i was left by this horrible man waiting 3 months for my results , not knowing if my kidneys was failing or i would live till the end of the year !!!
I went to Nuffield and paid to get fast results about my kidney functions as NHS was too slow!!
I tried to contact the DR for 12 weeks by phone email even asking Nuffield for them to contacting him on my behalf ..NOTHING..NO REPLY ..NO COMMUTATION ?
Nothing , to the stress my family, business, and myself was having to go through
Totally disgusting and they called themselves a caring service to leave a patient for 12 weeks and fail to communicate after paying all this money to go to a professional top hospital and make me very sad that they treat people this way,
So I filled in a complaint to the CEO Nick Saunders who just brushed under the carpet and said he did nothing wrong and covered up for this is not fit for purpose Doctor
I can’t believe how Appalling lack of care kindness to others was exhibited by these people.
When I took the follow-up I recorded the conversation and I listened to my results from the doctor and when I asked him why he hadn’t contacted me he said I don’t have a secretary to engage with clients.
I work for 95% NHS 5% private of this I can see what a big mistake I made to Nuffield Hospital in Ipswich !!!!!!!!!
.
I emailed to see how we’re going to highlight the lack of care and consideration about my concerns 6 months later and Nick Saunders did phone me and I said I’m not happy.
How would you feel? If you was treated like this? Can I have an apology and a full refund? he listened understood where I was coming from, and sadly took over seven days to contact me .
His secretary then wrote me a wrong letter then they wrote me another letter from me a small amount of a refund,20% of my payment
I am a CEO of a local company. My reviews are all positive. I’m honest hard-working businessman and to be treated like this is despicable and totally unacceptable. I’m telling the truth about how I was treated. I’m sure they’ll reply with a pack of lies all I can say is I would think twice before using this under the CEO . I’m a professional. I gave him lots of opportunities to sort this out and yet he failed Customer Care again and again.
So I feel totally letdown and the stress and worry was unimaginable caused by poor communication and lack of professional care clients that uses hospital I would not recommend the services of this branch of Nuffield as this is the worst experience I’ve ever had in Health Care in my life and Mistake mistake and mistake. This is the whole truth. Nothing but the truth of even highlighted this to the board directors and I’m still waiting for a full apology and my money back.

So looking at your google reviews it appears you have a great deal of unhappy patients Nick Saunders

Proud of my business EAPC Ltd ipswich
Which im the Director !!! (264 google reviews and one bad one in 20 yrs )….
Customer care professional honest advice and services perhaps they should look how others help customers and be honest like we do with all our clients range from CEO large business ,Doctors ,Lawyers ,Police inspectors,High profile clients, Military Officers and very important clients ,etc , )

We don't mind paying for a service ,but the service i received was not acceptable by this Company who turnover is very high indeed.
,and i hope you start treating new customers with honest clear caring attention in the future and pray no one has to be put through this ordeal ever again sir ....

Terrible experience with Nuffield Ipswich. Dr spent more time complaining about his other patients than talking about our issue. Promised a full quote within days and the operation in 6-8 weeks. This was in April 2023 (yes, 23!) and still no quote let alone operation date. Hasn't stopped them sending the "consultation" bill.

I had a cosmetic procedure done in August 2021. My surgeon was absolutely fantastic. He listened to what I wanted and he delivered. The cost was very reasonable in comparison to other hospitals I had spoken with.

The after care was brilliant. The nurses took great care of me. I had a few complications linked to reactions to medications and they were there at all hours to help me.

After leaving the hospital I called multiple times to ask for advice and nothing was ever too much trouble.

A little over a year on and I'm still incredibly happy with the results of my surgery. I would definitely go back if I needed anything else in the future.

I cannot be more pleased with my stay and op at the Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital on 18 May 2023. Five-star service with five-star medical care. The room was perfect, and everyone of the staff, from reception, attending nurse, the dining staff, the theatre staff, Craig Galloway (recovery room nurse) and of course the anaesthetist and the very excellent Dr Robert Lovell. The folks were all very personable and most professional. Now at home recovering very well from my Nerve Root Block/Foraminal Epidural Injection which was administered to aid in my trapped nerve/sciatica. Many thanks indeed. I most definitely highly recommend this hospital and their wonderful staff!

For a private hospital to not have internet in 2024 is beyond a joke. Asking old nurses to to help is pointless as they are clueless. When you are staying in for a few nights and paying privately it’s ridiculous. Next time I will book my partner into the Oaks at Colchester
