My mum mentioned that the two receptionist didn’t help my mum with self check-in even when she asked for help. she is very limited in english and not good with electronic yet they didn’t help. however the staff member who took the blood was very good and polite. If the patient is limited in english and telling you that she’s is not good with english then it’s their duty to help. not everyone is good with electronic. they need to be trained on how to greet and help people who are kindly asking for help. I myself work in a hospital but i don’t discriminate and treat my patients who doesn’t speak english in that way. I try my best to help.

I am so disappointed with this surgery which has been my surgery for over 25 years. It has declined terribly in the last years, and there is no need for this to be the case if small care is taken in front of house process and procedures.

1. There is no felt care for the patient to book to arrive or to wait the reception and queuing is appalling. With no eye contact care or warmth.

3. The signage and process to the entrance is all by "command" follow the rules. "Do not enter" "only use the intercom" "don't use the intercom to book appointments" this is more akin to a high security prison rather than a local GP.

4. Doctors are too quick to wave you away, rather than truly listen and investigate what may or may not be going on with your body. And this results in returning to the surgery or going to A&E.

5. The use of masks is STILL mandatory in 2023 when this is not even mandatory at hospitals. Doesn't make sense and is uncomfortable both for staff and patients when risk is low.

I understand that the CCG and the local practice work together with the rules of operations, how to book etc however the practice can significantly improve souch if the experience and for some reason choose not to.

Overall the surgery is very clean, (and empty! ) And the quality of the nursing, and nursing practice in my experience is excellent. However the reception entrance and care needs a complete rethink from a patient perspective.

It is a real shame as this was and still could be a good surgery however local management needs to step up and make changes

I felt quite unwell last week. I called the surgery at 10am and was told a GP would call me back that morning. At 12.30 pm received a call and by 12.45 pm I had a prescription for antibiotics at a pharmacy near me. I felt a positive review was needed as people generally only write negative ones.

There needs to be training given to the receptionists at this surgery. I’ve been going here for years and there has been a huge decline in care and services. If you are front facing and dealing with people who are stressed , worried or traumatised by issues when visiting the surgery (often facing life and death issues) then you should have some sort of compassion, care and thoughtfulness when you speak to patients. I visited last week worried sick about medication needed and the receptionist was abrupt, rude and like a machine. There was no eye contact, no care, no concern that the medication I needed wasn’t at the surgery. She was like a robot. I think there needs to be training given to how to talk to patients or if you don’t have the compassion then go to work somewhere else.

Given the height and position of the blood pressure machine, it was physically impossible to sit correctly at the angle displayed on the machine. I'm only 5ft 6 and I was bent over at an angle that was extremely uncomfortable. When I mentioned this to the receptionist I was told that is how it is and nothing can be done about it...not helpful at all...I'm surprised I got a normal readout tbh!

Poor service. Receptionist are hit or miss. They can be rude or clinical when speaking. No greeting with a smile. Doctors I would not recommend this surgery. I am in the process of moving surgery. They stop my meds without consultation with me. I was left three weeks without me meds. I was forced into detox n could not function due to pain levels so high. Was not able to concentrate and feel behind on my work. I had to stay longer to achieve what I normally did....average 2 hours more to clear days work.
They did not reply to my online complaint. And could not get an appointment. Every morning was told no appointments left try again tomorrow. Online booked 4 weeks later.

Posting this review on behalf of my parents. This practice doesn’t even deserve one star . Terrible receptionists, doctors that studied for 5 years+ And specialising only to sit at home refusing to see patients face to face , no point studying the practical examination in medical school if a doctor can’t see patients. But then again , receptionists play a part in this too - they refuse to allow patients to see the doctors as if they’re celebrities or something. Save your life and and save your loved ones’ lives and don’t even bother with this practice. We are moving, and so should you. Dr Jenkins era is LONG GONE.
