Edit to the below initial review. Specology called me after I posted my review to say they hadn't received my initial complaint made via their "Contact us" page on their website. They invited me in to address the issue and having inspected the lenses they agreed there was a problem and are going to replace the lenses for me. They are on order and should be replaced in the next week or so. I've therefore upgraded my rating from a 2 to a 4 reflecting their desire to resolve the problem. -1 for the initial issue with the lenses and problem with the website. I'm pleased with the follow up service and faith is restored.

Original review:
The initial consultation was a positive experience and I was delighted with the glasses and frames when initially received. I paid nearly £400 for one pair of glasses so I expected top quality frame and (occupational) lenses. However, what was understood to have been a robust, scratch resistant lens, has within three months become almost unwearable due to surface scratches. I don't juggle with them but to be fair nor do I wrap them in cotton wool when not being worn. They experience everyday use - I work from a home office - but compared to previous pairs I purchased at a well known chain the lens longevity is extremely poor. I did communicate this back to the store online recently but never received any form of response - so from an after-sales care perspective this is also very disappointing. I switched from the chain store as I wanted to support my local business. Unfortunately, that has backfired and I'll now be returning to the high street chain store where I'll likely get two pairs with designer frames for the price I paid here. Other google reviews have been positive so perhaps this is a one-off experience. I hope so for the sake of other customers but this one has now moved on disappointed and out of pocket.

Absolutely fantastic so pleased with everything.
The test was good and when i collected my glasses I could see straight away no trying to adjust.
Would never go to specsavers again and would highly recommend Specology.

Received wonderful treatment at this opticians. A really thorough eye test also using the latest laser examination technique. Friendly, caring professional staff who also went to great pains to help me choose my new frames with no pressure to buy. Have had many compliments on these new frames too. Very impressive service. Having transferred from Vision Express I cannot believe the difference in service, care and support. This is like a family practice; the expertise is beyond anything we have ever experienced. My teenage children love coming here- they are spoken to with such warmth and sincerity. We all wear glasses and lenses in the family, so I was worried about cost, as larger companies can afford deals etc. I was wrong. They go out of their way to keep costs low for you; I’ve had to buy three pairs of glasses for my children’s rapidly changing prescription and am myself on their lenses package - it’s no different. I cannot recommend Specology enough. If it wasn’t for their incredible staff my eldest daughter would not have been given extra time in her GCSEs- Noreen went above and beyond in her research of my daughter’s eye condition and in writing to my daughter’s school. Thank you.

Brillant service I went for varifocals for the first time and couldn't get on with them so with no hesitation they agreed that I could try bifocals and see how I get on with them and because there is a price difference I was refunded £100.
