My husband is currently feeling very ill and I was unable to get the emergency appointment. The receptionist was very unhelpful just sending me to online e-referral for triage "possibility" of doctor's calling him today. Booking systems told me that it is serious, they cannot book him through and that he should call the surgery instead. The receptionist couldn't care less. I asked for any available appointments this week, she said that she only has emergency appointments but for that he needs to call tomorrow morning . No appointments available online.
There's been various health problems in our family over the past year - doctor won't see you - they will only call you. I don't know what you need to do to actually see the doctor face to face and have them check you out. It feels like they show no care for most patients until they are too ill to be ignored. Great way to make sick people sicker and spend fortune of NHS money on serious illness that could have been potentially much easier to treat if doctor could see you SOON!

Should be placed in special measures. Simple things simply don't get done no follow up and have received medical diagnosis from a receptionist. Not been able to see a doctor for nearly 2 years.

Incredibly rude reception staff with the exception of one lovely lady! I don’t understand how someone who works in healthcare, the clue is in the name-CARE, can be so uncaring and speak to people with such a condescending tone. To put it into context my child had a rash that worsened all over and I didn’t call at 8am for an emergency because this is not an emergency but it needs attention. The lady wasn’t interested in listening to what I was trying to explain, she was interested in speak down on me like I’m a child who doesn’t understand. I work in healthcare and if one of our receptionist speaks like that to a patient, she would be out of the practice. I don’t understand with so many bad reviews regarding reception and clearly about the same lady, how has management not looked into this, how has this woman not been retrained and supervised. It’s absolutely appalling! The lady is incompetent to what is urgent, what needs attention and what might require just an extra note to the doctor. It’s very concerning that someone with no medical education makes decisions what might be urgent and what not.
The practice has made it impossible to contact them in any other way but phone to raise concerns, complains or simply feedback.
I want to highlight that the doctors are absolutely lovely once you get through reception staff.
I hope management takes the matter seriously because next time I have an encounter with this lady I wouldn’t be writing a review on google, I would be directly contacting the NHS complains team.

Very rude receptionists, they think they’re a Doctor and can give medical advice, saying things like i don’t think the Doctor can help? As if they’re qualified to say medical diagnosis. They lie, one says the results are in another says they aren’t, waiting for any results is scary, for them to be lazy not even check and lie saying results are not in, once you have to push them saying they’re in, they then get rude and say “‘well if Doctor hasn’t rang you the results can’t be bad” but trying to get an appointment is hard work, or asking them to get the Doctor to call you, are they even passing messages on. They are there to do a reception job not be a pretend Doctor, don’t like your job, don’t want to deal with phones. Emails or patients then change your job.

This surgery used to be the best in the area, but its now not even meeting the basic levels of care it should be for its patients. 3 minutes past 8 and I was 40th (thats right, fourtieth!) In the queue.
- Surgery refuses to make face to face appointments or give a callback time, so if you are in a job where you cant pick up the phone whenever you want, tough!
- No specific personal doctors so you have to re-explain your health issues every time to a different person. If you have MH issues like anxiety this makes it very difficult to get care.
- Getting help for an ongoing problem is virtually impossible unless you are willing to wait weeks and weeks.
Shocking levels of service. I just want to see a GP. It shouldnt take 6 phonecalls over the course of a fortnight to see somebody.

This is the most amazing practice. We have been with them for 30 years and they just keep getting better. The receptionists are lovely and helpful. I love the telephone consultations, so easy to talk to the doctor and for the doctor to decide if they need to see you or can simply write a prescription. We have always had first class treatment from them and are hugely appreciative of their help with complex and not necessarily run of the mill issues our family members have experienced over the years. Thank you one and all at Shepherd's Spring!
