I am home today from Wonford hospital after neck Anterior Cervical Disectomy and Fusion surgery after being diagnosed with Myelopathy.
I can only say that from the moment I entered this hospital the experience was friendly and professional. I was diagnosed by Mr Ramesh Nadarajah. He and his team were excellent and after visits to Wonford for x-ray/ MRI and further discussions with Mr Nadarajah I elected to go ahead with the operation offered. I was given a date much sooner than expected which unfortunately I had to reschedule which meant having to also reschedule our accommodation booked on site at Baker House. Again, the lovely lady in the booking office of Baker house could not have been more helpful.
On the day of the operation I was met at the door of the Orthopedic department by a lovely gentleman who was volunteering that morning. He immediately put me at ease and showed me the way to the orthopaedic surgical reception and waiting area.
I met with both the surgeon Mr Mikhail A DE Santos and the Anaesthetist who reassured me and in no time at all I was wheeled in for the operation.
Following the operation I awoke with very little pain which was kept under control along with very regular checks in recovery. The care in Dyball ward was brilliant and I thank every person I met in the ward and I am sure some that I did not behind the scenes for caring for me during my stay in their care .

I was repeatedly given appointments that were illegal as I had not volunteered and was forced into them (by my parents)
I have never been sectioned which is the legal process for this but Dr odoon who was the last psychiatrist I saw was unwilling to take no for an answer I therefore had to repeat this and was told I was "slow"
I really resent this lack of respect for my rights!
The police said that I should complain to the NHS
Which I have done I have since complained to the CQC and all other organisations
that I possibly could,
I can't say it would be worthwhile complaining to the parlimentry ombudsmen
as they are going to provide the stock answers,
which are this is a grey area and but your parents are concerned.
I am 33 and I am planning on leaving the country to work abroad I was at the time working as Lifeguard.
The Dr said the usually stuff, I am sure you could be discarded to the GP,which are you here today,
Tell me why?
I have always refused mental health treatment this Dr was aware of this and did not let me leave!
I understand this to be illegal!
OK the appointment was recommended my parents but they shouldn't be allowed to assume that this is their decision.
I hate this hospital, the attitude of other Dr's I saw were unbelievably arrogant and I I was preached to like I was a misbehaving child!
Absolutely awful!

I have complained and they said they were "above the law"
No further complaint.

Great staff always willing to help however nothing is being done reguarding smoking on there property as people are still smoking even when nurses are sitting next to them.
