Had the misfortune to visit A&E yesterday. They were absolutely brilliant, I cannot fault them in anyway. Everyone was kind, friendly, and efficient as were radiology and the poor young men in the CAT Scan room who had to pick me up off the trolley onto the scanner. 10/10 all round from me.

Went in to A&E for a suspected abscess. I was told there would be a long wait but they sent me over the the little unit down the path and was seen in about 10/15 minutes. The lady on the desk was pleasant and so was the doctor. I was told there was probably an infection caused by a wisdom tooth coming through, was prescribed antibiotics which was sent to boots pharmacy nearby which was collected shortly after. Very happy to be sorted so quickly as was on my holiday at the time.

I was taken into the James Paget Hospital last week, at 21.30 pm. I have never seen so many ambulances, waiting for patients to be seen.
Very clean, I didn't have to wait to long, they decided to keep me in for a night.
Breakfast was hit and miss, tea and coffee was OK, the staff on this ward were amazing.

Absolutely appalling service

Turned up at 4pm with foreign object in my left eye on my motorcycle with no lights on it and possible broken left forearm.

For all non urgent people to be skipped infront of me when told I had no lights on my motorcycle they was not bothered about getting me seen before dark so had to ride home with no lights as turning dark with one arm and one eye and they think this is acceptable service makes me want to stop paying taxes for these idiots

I attended the A and E Sunday 21.04.2024.
What a lovely surprise the service was first class, no long wait, the triage doctor was so gentle with my broken nose and other marks, bleeding appeared to have stopped.
A short wait to see a male nurse, so gentle, professional and kind in my hour of need.
I’m well on the way to recovery.
Thank you NHS and the J P for excellent
Well done.

Went in late at night after my 3 year old slipped and cut his head requiring gluing and steri strips. Staff were friendly, thorough and we were in and out in 45 minutes. I know adult a&e was heaving but the kids side was fantastic

Absolutely poor behaviour, my partner has had bad chest pains and had shortness of breath went to a&e as he’s recently just moved up here and no doctor yet still waiting for them to get back to us, anyway the woman at the desk said he had to put a mask on because of covid I told them he can’t as he is having trouble breathing as it is and she said he has to otherwise it’s against policy that’s one bad thing the secound bad thing was that the lady said it’s a 5 hour wait to be seen I told the lady twice he has sharp pains in he’s chest and is not breathing properly she said it’s fine probably just a chest infection and to take a seat. My partner couldn’t wait any longer and had to go home and sleep as he is not well.
We called 111 before arriving at James pagent and they said to him he needs to be seen within the hour & I told James pagent that 111 said this and they still told us to take a seat and it could take up to 5 hours to be seen this was at 9pm! What a bloody joke that was considering breathlessness and chest pains ain’t a good sign.

I was pleasantly surprised! I deliberately chose what I thought would be a quieter time (midweek, early morning) and the polite, caring staff had me triaged, seen by a doctor, x-rayed, seen again by the doctor, and out the door with an appointment card for the fracture clinic in 4 days time, within 90 minutes.
