I don't know where we would be as a family without the staff there. We were always kept informed about any changes concerning our daughter. The staff are very dedicated. Our daughter couldn't have been in better hands at Ida Darwin.

Worst place ever which is has no interest in what is best long term for children who are supposed to be in their care. Staff do not care for patients or their futures, they consider a success to be keeping a child alive and cutting off family to get them into a homeless hostel so they can say they have set them up for life. Avoid at all costs, care is next to zero and children are made to think once they have gone there they can forget about any future and that education is a waste of time for them as they need to accept they will be too poorly for the rest of their lives to achieve anything which is a huge lie - they just don’t want to work with a child to get better and to have dreams and aspirations again, that’s too much like hard work (or even any work) for them. Full of promises they will never deliver on, complaining is pointless less as they will just become more difficult to work with and cut family out of meeting etc if they think you will speak up. Any official complaints will just get lost in the system, as will special possessions such as musical instruments which a child may have put into their safes to keep them safe. Absolutely no care at all.

the phoenix centre lacks staff that care and competent mdt. After being sectioned here one day they decided they couldn't deal with me and set a discharge date, they did not listen to the concerns of my parents, my community team or myself. While there were a few good staff they were overshadowed by the bad staff. For 4 months of my admission we had no dietician meaning it was up to staff to weigh and make meal plan changes. As soon as you are weight restored you are discharged with no after care. they set myself and many other patients up to relapse.

an absolute disgrace to the NHS, 0/10 wouldn't get sectioned here again.

the phoenix centre is truly awful, i cannot even put into words how atrocious the care i received was and how much worse off it made me. they do not care at all about patients, only their weights. as soon as you hit that magic 95% you're discharged, whatever your mental state. they also lie and make false promises therefore it is impossible to trust them and their clinical decisions. the MDT lacks compassion and competence. overall, being admitted here was a massive waste of time as they just set me up to relapse.

very unhelpful. my friend is still EXTREMELY delusional and now has bed wetting issues as a reult from sumones bed wetting nan. hes too easily influenced. he jus watched a tv show call the "chaser" and is now sat at the top pf the stairs believing he is a fat overweight man in a suit with immense knowledge. very unhelpful fr. HE NEEDS FIXING.
