Terrible to get you sat navigating equipment constantly fails within a 20 mile radius of the hospital ,it’s been like that for the last 8 years . The car parks are constantly full . I’m 1:20 mins journey away from my home I give 2:30 hours and I am still late . However good this hospital is rated it’s Achilles heel is getting to it plus the quantity of folk dealt in one place makes you feel your more like at Heathrow airport than a hospital. Dire situation. If I could give zero I would staff redeem it .Something has to be done have patients go near their homes to suit their needs not one place does all it’s chaotic
🤷‍♂️🤬🤬🤬🤬

I wish to say that my stay in Ward D5 was excellent. I was in the ward for just over five weeks. All the Staff worked very Well to get me better. I was a G Sister SRN in my life and I can say 100% that all was good. The nurses and Doctors were/are fantastic.

Mixed review, nurses, support staff, excellent. Food not bad for hospital food. Consultant....self important tosser. Told me early in morning, 4 days after my surgery I could go home. Just so long as my drugs were ready and pending test results. Around 4pm I asked nursing staff for a progress report. they said Dr hadnt documented any of this.
Same thing happened the next day despite me reminding him, so I was pissy. Nurse then tells me he tells everyone they are going home.
Early the next day I discussed going home again, he said not for the forseeable future. 4pm, a nurse arrives and says pack up your stuff you are going home, Just need to take some blood... My husband (and transport home for 150 mile round trip)who had already left had to be summoned back accompanied by our disabled teenager. 4hrs later they're still awaiting info from the consultant re the blood tests and 'the plan'.
I self discharged eventually, advising they could contact me if there is any issue.
Consultant appears to think he is beyond communicating properly with patients and other staff

The best hospital I have seen in our country. Great team of doctors. What was shocking is the lack of healthy food options for who is hospitalised.

I am lucky that I know someone who lives nearby and could park for free, I really hate that parking and amenities can be used to fleece relatives. That being said, the staff caring for my dad were exceptional. Not getting into too much detail, the stoma nurse who attended my dad after his operation was one of the most amazing human beings I have ever met. The care provided here exceeded my expectations, I am forever thankful. The NHS deserve every penny of our taxes, and more.

The nurses and doctors in Clinic 24 acute gynecology were just so kind and helpful when I was in acute pain post emergency IUD removal and before I had my severe endometriosis diagnosis. Can't thank them enough. The consultant even saw me after a night shift so I could see the same person when I had to come back in. Great patient care all round.
