After calling 111, I was advised to attend urgent care, due to having tracking up my arm from a insect bite. From the moment I arrived to leaving after seeing a doctor, I felt cared for & treated with concern. A big thank you ?.

I went to Corby Urgent Care yesterday with excruciating pain. I had quite a long wait but all the staff I saw were absolutely lovely. Rob who I saw explained everything clearly to me and was very thorough. Excellent service, thank you very much.

Arrived at 11 am with my 4 yr old daughter who had injured her leg and was struggling to walk, wasn’t particularly busy. Four hours later we ended up walking out and seeking alternative care as still hadn’t been seen. This was after asking reception twice how much longer roughly we would have to wait, to be told each time we were next and then having to wait another half an hour until we’d had enough and left. Update to my review the centre have just called me and asked why I left I explained I’d been waiting for four hours and according to there system we arrived at 2pm and not 11am!!

Excellent staff including the receptionist from the outset and the two female nurses in triage.
However this was spoiled by the poor attitude of the GP who clearly was not prepared to listen to the patient. Such a rude man with a very poor ‘bed side’ manner.
There was no excuse for it. .
Regardless of the above we both believe the urgent care centre is wonderful and this issue should not get in the way of the good work they do.

Do not go here if you have a small baby or are with someone immunocompromised or vulnerable. We attended with a 5 week old baby with a rash and we were put in a tiny space with no windows with other children with suspected RSV and contagious respiratory conditions. I expressed my concerns about the environment and our baby not even having her jabs yet and was dismissed as a first time mother. We were repeatedly told we were next to be seen while the doctors and nurses sat and messed around and joked, including about patients. My partner was not allowed to wait with me, which meant breastfeeding and changing in an inappropriate and very warm space with no privacy was incredibly challenging with an unwell baby - I couldn’t even go to the bathroom myself during this time. I understand the one parent rule in the waiting room for older children but my baby is 5 weeks old as well as being a first time mother of only 5 weeks - as they kept pointing out.

After 3 hours I said I was leaving as the risk to my baby was higher being there than the rash she has, and I was laughed at again as a first time “young” mother. When we finally saw a doctor, he agreed with me that it was terrible that we were left to wait in a space with sick children and a very tiny baby, and given she only had a rash we should have been seen sooner to reduce risk to the baby - given her age.

I will be making a formal complaint and if my baby does get sick with RSV or another respiratory condition after this experience, I will be taking this much, much further.

Thank you so much Corby urgent care centre! The service was the fastest I've ever known. Assessed, seen, wound dressed, advice given for head injury and out in no more than 15 minutes. What a great service!

On the previous ocassions when I rang 111 to ask for advise regarding my son (current he is 13 months old) if they advised me to go to Corby Urgent Care Centre, I didn't follow the advise because there isn't a children waiting area, and instead I went to Pediatric A+E in KGH. But yesterday (6/10/2024), I decided to give it a go. I believe it was the first and the last time that I went with my son. The triage nurse was very competent, and because my son had raised temperature and Ibuprofen was due, the nurse placed us in a chair in the Observations Bay so we could wait for the medications. After 1 hour, we were still waiting for the medication. My husband went to speak with the nurse in charge, who replied that the medications would be given shortly, but that never happened, so my husband went to the pharmacy that was open on the site and bought some Ibruprofen and we administer it to our son. After another hour, my husband went to speak again with the nurse in charge and asked if our son was on the list to be seen by a doctor because he was missed on the medications. The nurse apologised and checked on the system, and our son was on the list to be seen. We waited for another 2 hours, to be seen by the doctor. We believe that although professionals are very competent, the way that children are seen is very disorganized. The fact that children are in the waiting area with adults and eldery people, in my view, is not the best place to go with my son.

Top praise for the x-ray team. Had a 0900 appointment via my GP, was in by 0901 and out by 0908!

Friendly, efficient sonographer. We are lucky to have this facility.
