I have been registered with this practice since May 2024 due to my old practice closing and quite honestly it has been more hassle than it’s worth.

• To register you need to fill in a paper form (why in this day and age is this not also electronic?)
• I was not told by reception when given the form to register that I also had to fill in forms (also for my daughter) to access the NHS app so I had to come in again with a 1 year old for these forms. I filled them out came back in saw the same receptionist and she said one of them was the wrong form (she had given them to me in the first place) so I had to go away again fill that form in and bring in ID again.
• I went in on Monday and explained to the receptionist (Kathy I believe her name is) I had 3 tablets left of my normal repeat prescription which is not a medication you can do without day to day it is incredibly important for me to take and she asked me to fill in another form (repeat prescription form) which I did. She said she would put it in the system to request and to wait 2 days for it to be at Milford pharmacy. I phone Milford pharmacy on Wednesday morning and they said nothing had been requested. They would contact the surgery to request it (which they did). I phoned the pharmacy today (Thursday) to ask if the request had been done she said nothing had come through but they would happily give me an emergency supply. Ultimately they shouldn’t have to do this. I just phoned Binscombe medical practice again as they had sent me a text to say I needed a review. (the receptionist told me on Monday it was on repeat on my file and would be fine). The same receptionist said in order to have a review I needed to fill in a form. I explained I came in on Monday had been registered since May and asked why I had to fill in a form to see a doctor.

I have never had any issues with getting my medication or making an appointment or registering with a doctors before but these are VERY SIMPLE things you need to be able to do at a practice and so far this one due to it’s receptionist is failing to deliver the level of service it should. As many people have said in their reviews we all pay for the NHS it is not a free service. If I don’t see an improvement in how I’m treated in the next few months I will be looking for another surgery that can fulfil these simple requirements.

Sadly I now feel I need to edit my review. Since the appointment system has changed the receptionists are not very polite and everything seems to be a bit of an effort for them. At the moment I don’t have internet and have another 2 weeks for this to be sorted out and the receptionist kept repeating because I didn’t book an appointment she had to fill in a very long form. I am not sure that it can be that long as she only asked me a few questions. She seemed totally irritated by my request. Having visited the practice for a blood test post operation I witnessed there were no people in the waiting room and whilst I was waiting for my blood test the phone didn’t ring. I find it hard to believe they are so run off their feet it is hard to be polite to patients. As someone else pointed out, this is not a free service, we have all paid into the NHS during our working life. We all deserve to be spoken to in a pleasant manner.
I don’t have any criticism of the GP’s other than it is hard to get an appointment to see one. So far there interactions have always been kind and helpful. I can’t thank Dr. Bull enough for her help to get my bilateral hip replacement done early.
Unfortunately your reception team is now living up to the steep type of doctor’s receptionist. If they find their job stressful I would suggest they look for something else to do. When someone feels unwell they don’t need an unkind or rude response when they reach out for help. I have left my previous comments in place. At that time the whole team were doing an excellent job.
I hope reception will reflect on their manners and interaction with patients.

As a nurse and a care home manager I can't fault this practice; they are kind, caring and professional. In my line of work I meet many GP's. I am truly grateful this is my GP surgery; all the doctors are fantastic. I find Dr. Jameson and Dr. Walker especially kind and a shout out to the receptionists; they are also very helpful.

Couldn't be better. Nothing to be unhappy about. Great practice to belong to. Will miss this most, out of all things lost to us when we move. Outstanding. Irreplaceable. Excellent.

Quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had. Multiple failings of basic care. A very unpleasant experience with Kathryn Osborne.

The attitude of doctors and other staff at this practice is all wrong. Despite popular belief, this is not a free service and patients deserve better care.

I find myself having to go private more and more to guarantee an acceptable level of service.

Both the young man on reception and the nurse went out of their way to help me with some stitches that needed removing. They couldn’t have done any more for me and I am very grateful. Good job guys

Really super team who have done really well under trying circumstances. Prompt return of phone calls and really caring doctors. Great support team doing their best within the monster that is the NHS. Never had an issue getting an appointment if I really need one.
