I was an NHS patient and had my hip replacement done at the Spire Cambridge Lea and can't fault any aspect whatsoever.
All staff were professional, polite, caring, and so friendly, which helps when you need reassurance of the upcoming operation and after care.
A special thanks to the nurses on the day shift and night shift who provided exceptional support and went above and beyond with my care during my 2 night stay.
A superb hospital.
Many thanks for looking after me.

All employees from reception, to people who help with your food, nurses, consultants, surgery preparation are very professional and empathetic. I came home yesterday after having a partial knee replacement. I wanted to make sure that everyone involved in my time there knew how grateful I am for the care and professionalism they showed to me. Everyone I came in contact with was awesome from my surgeon, anesthetist and everyone of the nursing staff (shout out to Rose from Lesotho) and the physios. Thank you all.

As a NHS referral patient I was extremely impressed by the way I was treated at Spire Lea Cambridge Hospital everything was outstanding & I can’t fault anything, I was treated with kindness, respect, compassion & fully informed on absolutely everything, the time & what the operation will involve my recovery time & what to expect from that. I had a full knee replacement on 23/07/2024 I had a follow up phone call yesterday from someone @ spire lea to see if everything is okay how I am feeling any questions I have or concerns, so amazing follow up service as well. I had my own room with its own en suite facilities, which clean like a expensive hotel room the food was fantastic & cooked amazingly & well presented, it’s just a shame that I couldn’t eat it all, (to ill to really appreciate it ) so my compliments to the chef 1st class without a shadow of doubt amazing place & staff truly appreciated

I’m currently here sobbing in my room. I was booked in for 6 nights for major back surgery and since the first night, just hours ached surgery I’ve been pressured to leave, told my bed is needed and I’m not recovering as quick as others do, been told that I need to get up and out and that the 6 night stay was an error and they don’t do ‘long term’ care. I feel vulnerable, alone and completely in the way. I’ve never been made to feel so badly. I was moved via the NHS to this hospital, I never asked to be, this was never my request. Clearly NHS patients are not welcome here.

I recently had a wisdom tooth extracted by the excellent and reassuring Mr Mark Thompson at Spire Cambridge Lea. After a delayed and stressful drive due to an accident on the A14, I was quickly made to feel at ease and settled into my outpatient room. I have nothing but praise for the medical and housekeeping teams' professionalism and friendliness. The only thing that wasn't great was that the pharmacy took over 2 hours to dispense some antibiotics and basic pain-killers for me to take home. This was excessive I felt, hence 4 stars not 5.

Visited Gynaecology in 2021 as I am in excruciating pain with a 4 cm posterior subserosal fibroid in the left side of my womb. I was 52 at the time nearly 53.
Addenbrooke's and Hinchingbrooke NHS Hospitals wouldn't treat me. Consultants at Spire weren't interested in helping me. I wanted the fibroid removed by laparoscopic myomectomy and didn't want a hysterectomy just for one fibroid. I was just told that if it was removed, it wouldn't help my pain. This is complete rubbish. I didn't have pain before I got the fibroid. it was stress from being unemployed from 2010 to 2012 which caused a hormone imbalance. My periods became heavy, spotting or none at all and high oestrogen levels caused the fibroid. I was diagnosed with the fibroid in 2015. I was recommended Sonata treatment but this wasn't suitable for fibroids on the back wall of the womb which I have. I was just dismissed again and didn't receive any treatment. I am now 55 nearly 56 and still in excruciating pain with this fibroid. I am still looking for treatment elsewhere.

What a fantastic hospital, the staff were truly amazing. Everyone was so kind and patient and nothing was to much trouble. I really have nothing negative to say about the hospital and so pleased I decided to go here. From one very sore but happy patient.
