My great uncle has been at Swan House for a number of years now. He had a long stay in hospital and was incredibly frail upon arrival following an amputation. The staff have been absolutely brilliant, encouraging him to eat and drink and build up his strength. Nothing is too much trouble, even when he asks for coffee and toast at 3am! He's the happiest he's been in years and we wouldn't dream of putting him elsewhere.

Our stepmother was put into this home, but after 6 weeks we moved her to somewhere else.
In the whole time she was in the home she never had a bath, and we had to ask so many times for them to clean her teeth each day which is surely basic care ? She was left in the bed because they said she was in pain so they didn’t like to get her out. The upstairs rooms are tiny which proved difficult for the staff as she needed to be hoisted, the rooms have no view and are quite dim. Most of the staff were good but we feel our stepmother wasn’t given good care, this being due to shortage of staff, and I heard staff members saying this. I feel if you are paying £1.050 a week you should at least have your teeth cleaned. If I become infirm I pray I don’t end up there.
