After about 2 years of therapy, my life has honestly taken a 180 degree turn and I am forever grateful for all the support I received.

My counsellor was always honest and made me feel welcome. I knew I was safe and could tell her exactly how I felt. She gave me the confidence to make decisions I needed to make. My symptoms of PTSD and flashbacks were reduced by finding good coping strategies. I finally understood parts of myself as I could see how what happened caused feelings which impacted on my behaviour.

For anyone reading this, I hope that you get the support you deserve and know that Lifecentre are a fantastic team who are there to help you. I was stubborn and didn't think they would help but honestly, I can't put in words how much they did for me despite my initial reservations!! 🙂

When I first rang up Life Centre I was extremely anxious but the lady who took my call was so kind and caring and easy to talk to. Definitely the right person for that job! As soon as they could fit me in I had weekly appointments. I really do recommend calling them if you need help, the councillor I got was lovely and most importantly knew exactly how to help me

Awful. These people stopped my sessions "due to covid" and said they would contact me in a few months. I heard nothing for 6 months so I emailed them only to find out they had no intention of re-starting my sessions. I complained and they basically blamed me for missing sessions even though they knew full well I was working on the front line during covid and my workplace refused to give me time which at the time they said they understood. I had no warnings about these "missed appointments" . In one of the phone calls one of the counsellors basically said "I was a lost cause" . These people never wanted to help me and I suffer every single day. Disgusting charity. Do not trust them.

I have received counselling over a period of many years for a variety of reasons from many different counsellors when I have needed it
I have had an excellent experience of trauma counselling at Lifecentre
I have found every member of the team to be kind and genuine and have felt respected by all of the team
I have always had a quick response when I have phoned and left a message or when I have emailed in
I have used the telephone helpline while in was on the waiting list and felt heard and witnessed and having that helpline in place helped me to get the immediate response and support that I needed on a particularly tough day
I have experienced counselling with Lifecentre both face to face and over the phone
Both experiences are equally as effective
I could even have accessed face to face via zoom but chose not to because that medium doesn’t work for me
My decisions about how I wanted to receive counselling have been heard and respected
I am at the end of the current experience of counselling with Lifecentre
Throughout this experience I have felt valued, heard and witnessed
My counsellor maintains professional boundaries and reflects back to me with empathy and kindness
She has helped me bolster my psychological tool box by bringing new information and new methods to my attention that I’ve used and will continue to use in the future
At every session she’s has checked at the outset, at various times throughout and at the end on how I am doing and asked what I will do to take care of myself following the session
She has responded to all of my individual needs and shown great insight into everything I’ve brought into the sessions
I’m so thankful that I was guided to Lifecentre and recommend them as a counselling service
