Visited A&E on a Friday evening at around 9pm. The waiting room was about 1/2 full with both patients and family. The staff were excellent and the 2 stars belong to them. The issue was a 4 hour wait to see a doctor with no information provided to when you would get seen. By 2am the waiting room was almost empty and I finally had a doctor see me. NHS is broken...

Absolutely garbage place, docs seem to be almost non existent, was told repeatedly from 18:00 a doctor would see me "tonight" it's now 6 in the morning and not a word, I came here because I thought I was having heart issues, nobody is telling me what's wrong and if you even dare to mention self-discharging, the nurses get really ratty and defensive. I won't be coming back here even if my life is at risk, there are better hospitals.

Just visited A&E today and both medical and non medical were exemplary. It’s a very busy hospital but it’s kept very clean and the staff are extremely helpful and polite and go that extra mile to be of assistance. Be proud !

I had my baby boy here, I was induced, stayed in hospital from the Sunday to the Wednesday, and from the start to finish I had the best care. I moved from West Sussex, and I honestly believe that I would not have gotten the same care down south than I had gotten at Barnsley. The midwives and nurses, all staff, incredibly supportive, caring, not once have I felt neglected, or that they did not do enough. I am grateful for them all, from antenatal to postnatal care. Emma K, at labour ward, and Katie at antenatal ward, thank you and the team for your care and support, having a baby is a very special experience, and I could not have done it without you. I hope the reviews reaches you all! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Xxx

Shocking care for my son who has severe learning disabilities . Thank the lord he is home after nearly 6 long weeks . The Learning Disabilities Nurse ,well what can I say horrendous. God help anyone who have not got anyone to fight their corner because if that is how they are teaching nurses now I feel sorry for them . Shocking x

Staff is always as helpful as they can be with the limited tone they have to help as any hospital i've been to. They're saints who deserve more money and more respect.

I am thoroughly nonplussed. Two years ago, I experienced a debilitating concussion that resulted in persistent and severe pain, significantly restricting my daily activities and overall orchestrating my existence whilst governing my affairs. I will indelibly remember the occasion in which I ventured to this hospital in fervent quest for assistance and was discourteously "greeted" by a nurse/doctor/whatever his qualifications were, dressed up like a COWBOY instead of wearing real uniform. After a three-hour wait, he dismissively suggested that my suffering was purely just in my head and essentially advised me to simply move on. Indeed, it is in my head; it’s called a headache. Thank you for your ineffectual assistance, “cowboy.”

I recently had an accident and broke my foot i was taken to A&E at Barnsley Hospital from that moment on i could not had have received better care. The surgeon Mr Gad did an amazing job the foot did have a ulcer over it but he washed it set it and i was away to a ward. Due to my age i did have some breathing problem, but the care and attention I received was second to non. Daily the staff Mr Kahn Mr Gad and many more visited almost daily to make sure I was on the mend.
On the ward the care and kind treatment was beyond anything I could have imagined, a staff nurse or sister called Janet was five star, i do owe her 2 cokes but thats another story, also i must mention Ancy John, a lovely nurse named Lovely, Anjitha, and of course Sunitha who told me, “Adithi Devo Bhava,” Jisha and Fawn is the last ones i remember but they will stay with me forever and i will never forget ALL the amazing people who helped me on my way back to my state before my accident Bless you all, and thank you thank you thank you Barnsley Hospital.
