Having been on the books at Petersgate Medical Centre for some years, I’m actually outraged at the level of service which I’ve recently received from the surgery.
Trying to gain information and a referral onto a Diabetes Prevention Programme following a pre-diabetic diagnosis has been like pulling teeth. I’m disgusted at their lethargy in tackling the problems of diabetes. They’re going through the motions but, failing to deliver.
I’m so disgusted with their level of service that I’m changing Doctors surgeries.

The doctors and nurses are lovely.
The only thing to let the practice down are some receptionists.
There are signs saying abuse of staff won’t be tolerated. Yet some of the receptionist treat and talk to patients like dirt. Only to be backed up by the practice manager.
I couldn’t make an appointment at 8 so while waiting in the waiting room I called the appointment line for my grandson an appointment. One receptionist came out and told me off infront of another patient.
People use mobile phones in that waiting room all the time.
Rules are in place, I appreciate that, but there are ways and approaches to avoid people being belittled in public in the waiting room.
The incident today has prompted me to search a new practice.

Staff insist you phone at 8am for a same day appointment or be offered one in 2-3 weeks. When you finally get through to reception after constantly ringing for 20 minutes, the lovely woman on the desk informs you that all the appointments are fully booked.

On a previous occasion I have received funny looks from the receptionist because I interrupted her social conversation with her colleague to sign in for my appointment which was only 2 minutes away.

I am going to report the standards to Doncaster CCG. Avoid at all costs.

absolutely shocking! receptionists don't appear to know what they're doing. The new online 'booking' system is an absolute joke. Because you cannot pre book anything. When you do eventually get through on the phone to reception, they tell you to call at 8am for an appointment. by 8:15am, all appointments gone!!.
Atleast with the old online system you could request/ pre book appointments as they were available, and plan around work/ commitments etc.
Since Dr Mckenna, bloore and weller retired, its completely gone down hill. i shall be looking at moving to a practice, where my health is taken seriously.
if you're not already registered with this practice, save yourself the hassle, and register somewhere else!!

Always found the team at Peters gate very caring, attentive, and helpful. They have always helped me and my family when we have needed the services of the surgery. Staff at GP surgeries get too much of a hard time and a bad rep, somehow more so during a pandemic?! These people are absolutely amazing and I applaud the work that they do

Would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to staff and doctors at Petersgate for all their care and kindness over the years. We have moved across town and unfortunately not allowed to stay with the practice. They have been great through all the times we have needed them. An extra THANKS to Dr Pierri from me who has looked after me both with professionalism and care. I won’t forget .
So fond farewell to a great practice.

I have called in a few times over the last few weeks and I’ve spoken to the receptionist with blonde bobed hair, I’d say in her 40’s
How rude, she does not smile or greet you with a hello, i just think this person it totally letting the surgery down as the other staff are great, she really should not be on a front reception in my opinion, as i was waiting i overheard another couple basically saying the same thing. She is so unapproachable if i can use the machine to sign in then i will just to avoid her.

Ever since the best Dr's have retired and this perfectic of virus came along. Getting fed up of this palarva of telling you to wear a mask as most place's don't have to. Rather be I'll than walk in being told to wear a mask as if no mask they give you one. But it's not the Drs, it how the receptionist speak to you and when telling them to phone you about your concernsand opinions of not wearing a mask ad to phone you about the matter as they can't make you,
And ordering a prescription by email, they never seem to do that now since hitting the roof,
As they never phone back because they know your right as if they too are more concerned for your health, they would phone , but no call back at all.
But still Sticking to my guns no matter what's wrong with me, they always put it down to your blood pressure and telling you its all in your head,
any wonder when now its all about controlling your life and dictation,
until things get back to as they were, would rather keep away .
As if any hassle would go over there heads as had enough of being walked over for year's by the nhs.
As this is my thoughts only as all Dr's aren't like this as the best have retired and still haven't seen the one I have asked for ever since a Dr I seen has retired.
