A very crushing experience. I'm sure you're not supposed to come away from therapy feeling worse than before you started. In good faith I cannot recommend this service to anyone, based on my own experience, although I do see mixed reviews on this and other forums, I can only conclude that unless your challenges are close enough to not being a challenge i.e. quick and easy to fix, think twice before you embark on this journey. I get the impression that they focus more on quantity than quality, possibly to maintain their "ratings" and meet targets, to reduce their waiting-list i.e. a numbers game. The first signs of your case not being easily "wrapped up" may see you being discharged abruptly. In my case I had 3 sessions and then discharged.
After the triage phone-call, I was assured that an exploratory approach would be taken. That exploratory journey was aborted by Talking Together even though, by my 3rd and final session it became evident that much of the help I needed was within their remit to provide. The 1 star rating is for the lack of due diligence shown in decisions they made and for causing the exploratory journey, I was assured would take place (and waited 4 months for), to come off the tracks so prematurely.
My challenges are as difficult as ever and thanks to Talking Together I've also been left with a serious trust-deficit after they pulled the rug from under me. On reflection I would have been better off not attempting to get help. A grim conclusion but, sadly, it's reality

If you're trying to use the "evidence-based" yardstick by way of justifying why you discharged me and claiming you are unable to help everyone unless they fit a certain criteria, why then did you do a complete 180 and offer to provide therapy again once I had challenged your decision? I thought you were supposed to support a patient, not test their endurance. Do you think it right to treat a patients issues like a football, kicking it from one person to another? Expecting the patient to repeat and re-live difficult experiences, whilst you are busy shifting the goal posts to suit your narrative.
So I'm firstly not suited to the therapy you provide and then when challenged, I am? Which is it? And why would you provide this "single point of access" phone number only after I've posted a public review? Do you see any duty of care in these actions? So bloody hurtful. You now want to establish if there has been a lack of due diligence. Isn't it obvious? Is it so you can deliver the "lessons have been learnt" mantra? No, I will not contact you again, nor do I have faith to return to you again for "therapy" after you pulled the rug from under me. I only posted a review to warn others about your cavalier attitude. Even your in-house complaints procedure is nothing more than an exercise in trying to pacify a patient and closes ranks at every turn. You had the opportunity to help me and you had the opportunity to admit when you did something wrong. You did neither. The next time you hear about my case will not be directly from me.

Amazing service! I self referred, which was a simple process. Every person I communicated with, from an email, telephone call to face to face, was exceptionally friendly, helpful and understanding of my situation.
If anyone is struggling and needs someone to talk to, I would 100% recommend getting in touch with NHS Wirral Talking Therapies. They have helped me so much and I will be forever grateful

Dreadful. I waited well over a year for one specific therapist for her to completely screw me over. She cancelled the appointments, let me go half way into the session. Then I went back and this place, they didn’t know what to do with me. Saying I needed counselling then cbt. I got passed around so much that they ended up discharging me with no actual help. If you’ve been through the system before you get treated like you’re a burden. The quality of the therapy is really bad. Told me when I said I couldn’t sleep due to anxiety that this was normal. It wasn’t therapy, it was more like a friend speaking to me. That’s not what I wanted. Thanks for wasting my time, ditching me and maintaining my suffering to this day

Andy was the person I was seeing, I’ve been in counselling since I was 18 so I have 26 years experience with counsellors. I’ve had 2 stand out counsellors Andy is one of them, he’s helped me make real changes, he’s helped me see why I feel how I do, how to deal with those feelings and he was my biggest cheerleader and I’ve walked out of there today feeling the strongest I’ve felt in a long time. His genuine approach and how he waited for me to understand and then he’d explain on that’s it and it wasn’t a BS well done you he was genuinely happy about my progress and how things have changed for me because of how he’s treated me he took time to understand how and what I needed to learn I could sing his praises all day, one of the best experiences in counselling and he’s made sure that I have support going forward, because he knows I need the support going forward. I honestly think he’s amazing!!
I’m nikki campbell and not Jennifer jones it won’t let me change that review name !!!

Talking Therapies is a absolutely amazing service, and to some literally a life saving service. My own personal needs where met with the most caring people you will ever meet, Andrew helped me realise what I needed to do and helped shape my mind back to positive things, without the help and support from this service I would still be kicking rocks down the road, it has helped me look up to the sky and dream of better days instead of looking at the ground thinking of the bad times . Thank you so much to the whole team at Talking Therapies .

My therapist Andrew Antley was empathetic and skilled. I found the Transactional Therapy to be most useful. Andrew was an excellent guide, asked relevant questions and we really got down to the core of the problems I was having. Andrew offered excellent guidance. Andrew is knowledgable and answered my questions in relation to follow on therapy and at all times listened and showed great care. A very, very positive experience. With Andrew’s help I was able to move from clinical mental health problems to being non-clinical and able to cope. I felt much better. I would recommend this service to anyone struggling with mental health issues, depression or anxiety.
